HOLY FREAKING COW.
Their acceptable standards for these experimental injections is only 50% effective, despite the obvious dangers of unknown side effects, especially long term ones?
Can you imagine a 50% acceptable standard for any other product? Of course not, because it’s equal to a 50% FAILURE rate. But they expect us to place that ridiculous bet on our health?
It also goes a long way to explain why these drug pushers are so concerned about liability protection for their experimental injections. With only a 50% required success rate, there’s bound to be a lot of dissatisfied customers!
What public health experts prefer to avoid saying in public is that a vaccine and the illness sought to be averted both have risks and burdens. The easy calls are mostly accepted by the public, like getting smallpox and polio vaccinations in order to avert the horrors of those disease. We shall see where the calculus as to COVID ends up. My guess is that both the vaccines and the disease have some long term harms that are yet to be revealed.
So how do we get to 100%? I musta missed something.
At this point, on the scale of "dangerous" to "not dangerous", both are very much on the "not dangerous" side of things. Everything in life carries some element of danger, if that's the word we want to use.
And it does not appear that CaptainPeterBlood was asserting that the "artificialness" of the S-protein in the Novavax product was the problem. He's doubtless referencing the Salk Institute study that showed that the S protein would damage endothelia tissues even with an inactivated virus. At least that's how I read this: "The Navavax vaccine uses a artificial Spike Protein, that has now being found to cause clotting, strokes, and heart attacks."
Here's the thing about that, though. If that take is correct (and I suspect that it is), that argues strongly in favor of finding a way to get antibodies to the virus and the s protein without having to contract the virus itself, if only to minimize the risk that you'll be exposed to a large volume of S protein. A vaccine is the only way to do that.
