Because the legislature adjourns in a couple of weeks. There simply isn’t enough time to go through the reconciliation process to produce a clean bill that both houses can approve to send to the governor.
This was back-stabbing on the part of the Senate Republicans.

There simply isn’t enough time to go through the reconciliation process to produce a clean bill that both houses can approve to send to the governor. They could make time if they wanted. They don't want to. It's amazing they can pass worthless bills in record time but not something that is Constitutional to begin with. Pathetic.
