New Mexico Special Election Could Further Reduce Pelosi’s House Majority
National Review ^ | May 4, 2021 | Paul Gessing

Nancy Pelosi’s majority in the House of Representatives continues to shrink. The recent swearing-in of Republican Julia Letlow of Louisiana has taken the House Democrats’ majority down to 218–212. This means that Pelosi has a mere three-vote governing majority with which to push the Biden administration’s big-government agenda.

The GOP will soon have another chance to reduce Pelosi’s margin for error when voters in New Mexico’s first congressional district (which includes Albuquerque and its environs) go to the polls to elect a replacement for Biden’s newly minted secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, a Democrat. ***

The candidates to replace Haaland could not be more different. While there is a serious independent contender and the Libertarians technically have major-party status, the Republican and Democrat contenders are state legislators with long histories of voting on important policy issues. Republican senator Mark Moores has been in the New Mexico Senate since 2013. In addition to his prior experience as a staffer for various Republican officeholders Moores played offensive line for the University of New Mexico Lobos.

Democrats almost NEVER leave office voluntarily. They regularly die in office at 85, or even 90 Plus.

i always liked RINO Heather Wilson. 10 years in a blue district like Susan Collins in Maine. Great if this guy can take it away from them. A good barometer.

218–212. This means that Pelosi has a mere three-vote governing majority

I take it they mean that if three Democrats break, then the vote would be even. The fallacy in that though is it assumes the Republicans would be united. That does not happen.

Thanks, I didn’t know that.

The House, being large and containing many seasoned citizens, seems to be almost always a work in progress.

Never forget the House Dems’ majority shrank while our Imbecile-in-Chief got a record number of “votes” for president.

But they still vote, right?

Getting Pelousy out of power is a great opportunity! Even if it has to be done one Congressional seat at a time.

She has inflicted more damage on America than almost any other modern day politician (faking Obama’s eligibility certificate, shoving O-care through without even permitting our elected Reps to read the damned bill, sending two fake impeachments of PDJT to the Senate, etc etc etc etc)

No enemy nation in anyone’s memory (since WW2- Pearl Harbor?) has been able to do more harm to USA

Hopefully, the GOP will wrest control of the House in coming months and we won’t have to wait for the midterms to apply the brakes on BiteMe’s atrocities!!!

it assumes the Republicans would be united. That does not happen.

Insightful and thinking outside the box.

When did the GOP ever unite and stay strong? Can't recall it.

In fact, if it does get close to 50-50 watch for traitorous GOP members to ask Pelosi for favors and numbered bank account deposits and then switch parties.
