Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican, said on Monday her party cannot accept the "poison" of the idea that the 2020 election was stolen and should not "whitewash" the January 6 Capitol riot -- and Donald Trump's role in fomenting it.
"We can't embrace the notion the election is stolen. It's a poison in the bloodstream of our democracy," Cheney said, speaking behind closed doors at a conference in Sea Island, Georgia. "We can't whitewash what happened on January 6 or perpetuate Trump's big lie. It is a threat to democracy. What he did on January 6 is a line that cannot be crossed."
Cheney made her comments, confirmed to CNN by two people in the room, during an off-the-record interview with former House Speaker Paul Ryan before a crowd of donors and scholars at the annual retreat for the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.
Cheney also called the Constitution "our shield" and said a "peaceful transfer of power must be defended." The comments in Georgia followed a tweet she sent earlier in the day. "The 2020 presidential election was not stolen," Cheney tweeted. "Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system."
The tweet was in response to Trump, who on Monday continued to perpetuate the lie that the election was stolen. "The Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 will be, from this day forth, known as THE BIG LIE!"

Whenever the issue starts to bubble too close to the surface we all start getting entertained with “pizza parties” and “SRA” issues/trafficking stories/illegal immigration/war in Europe or southeast Asia etc.-and other Red-Blue “trigger issues” intended to distract us-but these are only incidental to the business at hand-the selling of the votes and legislation of the most powerful legislative body in the world.
These “trigger issues” are intended to remove our eyes from what is going on right before our very eyes!
These “trigger issues” are the stick the Deep State uses to marshal the votes they need to deliver product.
The contemporary information-digital communications technology has the ability to put an end to all of this -which is why the “information war” on the American electorate. Why “us” versus “them” is finally crystallizing.
Its why they barricaded Capitol Hill, The White House and The Supreme Court. They now can’t quite yet believe that they’ve gotten away with it so easily under the cover of COVID
That was the last resort. When old fashioned cheating like the dead voting and ballot harvesting wasn't enough, they pretended to shut it down so poll watchers wouldn't contest the truck loads of ballots brought in during the middle of the night in Michigan and Georgia. Dems are real nervous about Arizona. If the audit finds wide scale irregularities in Arizona, there will be pressure to Audit Michigan and Georgia.
It was Liz who crossed the line. And her arrogance is proving more costly than expected. Yet, instead of backing down she keeps doubling down on an already lost position.
Her anger at Trump for disparaging her father’s role in the Bush Administration has so clouded her judgment she can’t seem to swallow a little crow, stop punching Trump’s Tar Baby, and just walk away.

The entire media was in on it. They all rehearsed the same mockingbird talking points prior to the election about a "red mirage".
"Now folks, it's going to look like Trump won on Election Day, but don't believe your eyes. In the days afterwards we intend, I mean expect him to lose."
YEAH! God forbid someone standing up for the people of this nation! That is NOT allowed!

I celebrate that she is doing this. In this way there won't be a thinking person left who does not see that she betrayed the party and its leader and continues to sow the seeds of discord within the party.

Trump didn’t cross the line, the Rats and Establishment Republicans did . . . big time. And Lizzy is doubling down and tripling down.
Apparently, Liz was a co-conspirator and belongs in jail because of it. Is she scared that might happen?
She cannot continue in this fashion and remain in the House leadership. Sooner rather than later she will need to be removed from that position. And it will be entirely her fault.
