Ontario doctor reveals that otherwise healthy elderly patients, suffering from extreme loneliness and isolation due to the lockdowns, are asking for assisted suicide..
An emergency room physician at The Ottawa Hospital said she is seeing an alarming increase in patients, especially among the elderly, who are struggling to find the will to continue to live, as they are isolated from their loved ones due to COVID rules.
In retirement homes, visiting is rarely allowed, meaning that elderly people are alone living without contact with their families and loved ones. Instead, they are being cared for by masked healthcare workers.
Dr. Justine Amaro said that some of her patients have asked to be given assisted suicide. This was not a result of any physical illness; the patients were “just were tired of being so alone.”
She described meeting an elderly patient who asked her for assisted suicide. “I’ve literally sat with an elderly person who has begged me to please provide them with medical assistance in dying,” she said, “because they would rather die than continue living in an isolated way.”
“It breaks my heart to watch people literally feeling they would rather end their life than they would continue to live on in a way where they are alone,” she continued.
During the first months of the pandemic, hospitals experienced an increase in patients suffering from the coronavirus. However, recently, hospitals have seen fewer patients suffering from COVID-19, but an increase in patients suffering from mental health problems.
“Our department is filled with patients right now with mental health problems,” Amaro told CBC News. According to Amaro, these patients did not have a prior history of such issues, but were coming in with new mental health crises. Some even desire suicide, not wanting to live anymore because of the ongoing lockdowns. This was particularly the case with the elderly.
Starting in early April, Ontarians have been experiencing the strictest lockdown measures yet, and a stay-at-home order with threats of police checks for being outside without sufficient reason. This means continued isolation for Ontarians and the elderly population in particular. Since the coronavirus is known to disproportionally affect the elderly, politicians have instituted rules isolating them in the hope of “saving lives” — a measure that appears to backfire.
Amaro further pointed out that she has never seen so many patients suffering from mental health crises in her 17 years of working in emergency medicine. “The social isolation,” she said, “has taken a huge toll on all of us.”
Additionally, many patients are being denied essential health care services. According to Amaro, one patient went into septic shock due to a gall bladder infection. “He was dying of a life-threatening problem that, had he presented himself earlier, it could have been dealt with,” she said.
Many are calling for the removal of the current restrictions. On April 29, Roman Baber, MPP for York Centre, tweeted the video of Amaro explaining the mental health crisis, and called out Ontario Premier Doug Ford, as well as Christine Elliott, the Ontario Minister of Health, for the current mental health situation.

Bullsh!t.
As if the Faucis could give a crap.
All part of the plan.
Get those pensioners off the rolls in any way possible.
Maybe if people weren’t taught to be reliant on others for their entertainment, mental health, and well-being, less would feel lonely and isolated.
The entire premise is a lie.
nursing home residents protest pandemic lockdown: “I’d rather die of covid than loneliness”… ... protesting the lockdown as they enter their eighth month of no hugs, no smiles, no kisses from their loved ones.
The isolation is what kills these people,” she said. “It’s just incredibly sad that they can’t live out the last part of their lives with their family surrounding them.”
They are members of the greatest generation,” James said. “The very generation who fought to overturn tyranny and protect our freedoms. Now these members of that generation have had their freedom taken away via a tyrannous act by unelected bureaucrats

The tyrant politicians keeps *essential* corporate big box stores, liquor, and pot shops open, but deny family to say good by to their loved one.
Young mother dying alone:: orders halting families’ goodbyes.. A mom hospitalized for 21 days died (not from covid) without seeing her husband nor her two young children, despite the family’s repeated requests for an exception to orders barring family members..
Young sons are in absolute shock.. They are really hurt that (without a court order signed by a judge) they were prevented from seeing their mother at any point during the three weeks..
Elizabeth Reiter, who had long-term health problems that surfaced during her first pregnancy, was at UCHealth in Aurora.. The day after his wife died, Steve Reiter was overwhelmed. His words were interrupted by heavy sighs. His sons, he said, are in “absolute shock.”…
Elizabeth, tested negative for coronavirus a second time while in the hospital, then Elizabeth went into cardiac arrest and died.

This is the definition of evil.
And should be dealt with as such.
Visitation Saves Lives… cruel policy of isolating seniors
Thank you for your posts, I am glad someone on this thread gets it.
It is amazing how many supposedly “freedom loving” freepers are ok with their government laying waste to everyones freedom.
I used to read these people and think, man sure would suck to share a foxhole with him. Now I realize that will never be a problem, as I am sure they will be on the other side of no mans land from me.
Well, wasn’t that the original intention?
Yup. COVID, the eugenics virus.
I saw one of the nursing homes in NY. Huge four story building that may have had room for hundreds of residents. When I saw that, I couldn’t help wondering. Was it a State run facility? If so, I bet it took quite a chunk out of the State budget.
Pure evil.
Wonder how often a family member might take a part time job at a senior center in order to see their relative / the tyrants would not otherwise let in
I personally know two people who have done that, so I assume there are many more across the land.
It is well known that depression afflicts a high proportion of residents in nursing homes, and that loneliness is a major exacerbation, even under normal conditions. I do not doubt the validity of this report.
Society has bought into the lie that some lives are not worth living-- the so-called "quality of life" quotient. Soon the right to die will be the obligation to die.

Most of them are not from The Greatest Generation...younger.

This is one of the most crass remarks I have every heard. I think the author should take some psych and geriatrics courses to reacquaint him or her self with what it is like to be human.
Because, you see, being human, having the capacity to give and receive love, attention, read and share books and poetry, appreciate music and discuss at great depth and with much interest what excites them spiritually and what gives them solace is not the exclusive domain of young people or middle aged. It is all active and part of the life of the Elderly. ...just as it should be yours.
At 73, I don't think I need to take any geriatric courses, and I read plenty of books on subjects that I find interesting. I minored in Psychiatry in college, but I don't rely on books to tell me how I should live my life. I know what it is like to be human. I know myself, what I like, and don't like. I don't need anyone to entertain me, or make me happy. I can do that all on my own. My comment came from my own experience, as a divorced mother of two sons, who raised her kids alone, worked full-time days, and went to school full-time nights to get an education. I was independent, self-reliant, helped myself, and never expected, nor asked anyone for anything. I've been retired since 2003, and enjoy my solitude and privacy. Liking those things doesn't make you any less human. My sons are in their 50's now, have their own lives in other areas of the country, but we see, and speak to each other when we can. The last member of my family died in 2014.
You seem to think that everyone needs interactions with others in order to be happy. You don't. I learned a long time ago that I'd rather live alone and be happy, than live with someone and be totally miserable. That's why I divorced my only husband in 1979, and went on to accomplish things that I never would have been able to do if I'd stayed with him. In order to love others, you have to first, love yourself, and like the person you are. I don't need constant reassuring, or large numbers of close relationships to be happy, or see, or talk to someone every day, in order to feel fulfilled. If you can't help yourself, what good are you to someone else?
If you want to look at unhappy people, just look at all the snowflakes out there who can't make it on their own, have to be a part of some group in order to feel wanted, and can't handle any kind of change or inconvenience. I can't imagine what kind of needy senior citizens they will be...if they haven't killed themselves before that. In the end, you have yourself to rely on, no one else.
Sorry I don't fit into what you think the ideal lifestyle is, but I'm happy and content with my life as it is, until the Good Lord says my time is up.
The evil leftists
hate love and love hate
They’re totally evil. Trying to cut off human contact
Banning seeing people
Banning gathering
Masks. Hide your face
Stay six feet aiart.
Pure evil they are
