Landslide! Candidates against ‘critical race theory’ SWEEP Texas school board election

The liberal construct known as “critical race theory” was on the ballot in the town of Southlake, Texas, and the divisive doctrine suffered a decisive loss.

An affluent, mostly white suburb 30 miles northwest of Dallas, Southlake became a battleground reflecting the overall struggle in America with a toxic theory that posits that all white people are inherently racist and that the U.S. is rampant with systemic racism, where skin color alone decides who is privileged and who is oppressed.

On Saturday, candidates opposed to critical race theory won both seats on the Carroll Independent School District board in a convincing manner, with a record turnout of voters.

The winning candidates received nearly 70% of the vote, as Cameron Bryan received 68.47% against opponent Lynda Warner’s 31.53%, and Hannah Smith got 69.04% of the vote against opponent Ed Hernandez, who saw 30.96%, Southlake Style reported.

Smith, an attorney who clerked for Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, said in a statement that the election “was a referendum on those who put personal politics and divisive philosophies ahead of Carroll ISD students and families, and their common American heritage and Texas values.”

“The voters have come together in record-breaking numbers to restore unity,” Smith said. “By a landslide vote, they don’t want racially divisive critical race theory taught to their children or forced on their teachers. Voters agreed with my positive vision of our community and its future.”

The candidates were backed by the conservative Southlake Families PAC, according to NBC News. The PAC raised more than $200,000 and the candidates it backed for two city council seats and mayor also won by a similar clip.

The issue of racism took center stage last year when the school board introduced what NBC News described as “diversity and inclusion training.” The network characterized the winning candidates as “opponents of anti-racism education,” and further reported that Southlake is “a historically conservative city where about two-thirds of voters backed President Donald Trump last year.”

(Southlake is primarily in Tarrant County, which voted for President Joe Biden by a slim margin.)

The training came after a 2018 video surfaced of high school students laughing and shouting the N-word. — the video was not made on school property or during school hours. There were other complaints of children allegedly making racist jokes or making racist remarks to others.

The student-led Southlake Anti-Racism Coalition had collected over 300 accounts from current and former Carroll students who complained of alleged mistreatment due to their race, religion or sexual orientation.

“I don’t want to think about all these kids that shared their stories, their testimonies,” Hernandez said. “I don’t want to think about that right now, because it’s really, really hard for me. I feel really bad for all those kids, every single one of them that shared a story. I don’t have any words for them.”

The district also amended the student code of conduct “to specifically prohibit acts of discrimination, referred to in the document as ‘microaggressions,'” NBC News added.

More from the network:

The plan called for mandatory cultural sensitivity training for all Carroll students and teachers, a formal process to report and track incidents of racist bullying and changes to the code of conduct to hold students accountable for acts of discrimination. The proposal also suggested creating the position of director of equity and inclusion to oversee the district’s efforts.

This effort prompted a concerted backlash from parents, many of whom objected to the “liberal ideology” that would bring about the formation of “diversity police.”

Interesting. I would have guessed an affluent suburb like that would be full of Karens. Perhaps there’s a limit to how much wokeness even Karens can endure????

This is where we can make a difference, in local elections such as school board elections. Great news here.

Karen’s are averse to even the slightest hint of heavy lifting. They’ll never get involved beyond running their mouths.

As Texas goes, so go a high percentage of new textbooks. TX is very bellwether in this regard.

As Texas goes, so go a high percentage of new textbooks.

Which explains why NBC felt the need to mourn this seemingly very localized election result.

Indeed. Karens and Millennials are (secretly) as insulted by CRT and BLM garbage as any other self-respecting white person is. And the secret ballot voting showed that.
