Millions of people are looking for a pro-America ideology, not a personality.
The GOP, for the most part, is not interested in a pro-America ideology. Which pretty much leaves us with Trump. But that’s not really because of his personality. I do like him because he is a fighter — but the really key piece is that he’s fighting for the right ideology.
He not only fights for the right ideology but his tactics are what I approve. It seems to me that Trump enters every potential relationship as win-win with rules both sides can agree upon. So he starts in good faith but if the other side refuses to play by the same rules, he is not hesitant to respond in kind. That is what distinguishes him from Republican squishes who virtuously stand on “principle” while losing bigly on substance, time after time. Bite Trump once and he will bite back, harder.
