Two Republicans will advance to a runoff as the top two vote-getters in the race for Texas’s 6th Congressional District, after no one in the 23-candidate field won an outright majority of votes on May 1.
Republicans Susan Wright, wife of the late Rep. Ron Wright, finished with 19 percent of the vote, while Jake Ellzey garnered 14 percent. Democrat Jana Lynne Sanchez finished third with 13 percent and conceded on May 2.
The development will ensure that a Republican will win the seat to represent the northern Texas district following Ron Wright’s death earlier this year. The date of the runoff hasn’t yet been announced.
The district covers some southeastern parts of Fort Worth along with some rural areas. The race was seen as the first competitive federal election since President Joe Biden took office.
“Democrats have come a long way toward competing in Texas but we still have a way to go,” Sanchez said in a statement. “Unfortunately, tonight we came up short, and two Republicans will be competing to represent this Congressional district.”
On May 1, Wright issued a statement after her victory: “Let’s go win this!” She also used a hashtag for “Make America Great Again,” Trump’s campaign slogan.
On Feb. 7, then-Rep. Ron Wright died of COVID-19 complications, although he had battled cancer for years.

President Trump endorsed her so I would not think she would not be of the Romney, McCain, or Cheney wing!
How long does this list have to get before it is realized the Republican Party ceases to exist as we knew it?
Democrats really don’t like this kind of result. They’ll just take over the vote-counting process in the general election, get a few judges to say it’s all above-board, see ya.

He endorsed her to save the seat. Besides Ellzey, a decorated Navy Seal and State Rep and a young dynamic former Chief of Staff at HHS in the Trump Admin., there were at least three other good candidates! Trump jumped in with a last minute endorsement because she was presented as the best person to take on the Democrat. Now it’s R vs R! Wonder if he will get involved?

A bald face lie. In the 6th District, the Republicans reversed their slight reverses in the 2020 general election and roared back to exceed their results of 2016. It was a complete repudiation of the 2020 election. The Democrats are shaking in their boots, but of course, Democrats in Texas don't have a pair of boots, don't have a hat, and definitely don't have any cattle. What they do have are saddle bags full of lies and CNN, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and the rest of the media will spread their lies to the stupid people.
This was the first skirmish of the fight to preserve our Republic and our Union, and the Democrats are skedadalling back to Baltimore, Chicago, and Austin. The "Jungle Primaries" were designed to prop up the Democrats, but it failed in this case because the country has figured out that the 2020 election was a massive conspiracy and fraud.
The Judiciary missed the memo, and since they can now go back to their Caribbean beach vacation homes, they will ignore what is going on until the Hurricane season forces them back to DC.

This seat is now empty (TX-6), and (obviously) will be won by a republican - probably the more conservative (Trump-endorsed) republican).
Now, the arithmetic: How many seats does that give Nancy to remain as Speaker of the Mob (er, House)? I “think” that reduces her margin to a 2 vote dictatorship by the democrats, but I am not sure if the “minority party” can “force” a vote for a new speaker just based on the number of each party. That is, a “session” is re-started each two years, and the “Speaker” is elected for the entire session, not “for as long as the House accepts her leadership.”

Why would you want Pelousy gone - she’ll single-handedly lose her majority in 2022 just like she did in 2010. She and Schmuck Schumer will be the ultimate midterm campaign assets for the Stupid Party.
