Fooling coronavirus with new decoy protein renders it impotent

A novel decoy protein designed by Northwestern Medicine scientists fools SARS-CoV-2 by intercepting the spike of the coronavirus and rendering it impotent.

The novel protein significantly reduced lung damage and resulted in only mild symptoms in mice infected with SARS-CoV-2, while untreated animals in this model all succumbed to the infection.

"We envision this soluble ACE2 protein will attenuate the entry of coronavirus into cells in the body mainly in the respiratory system and, consequently, the serious symptoms seen in severe COVID 19," said lead investigator Dr. Daniel Batlle, a professor of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern Medicine physician. "We have converted a lethal disease to a milder lung disease that is fully reversible. The protein could be complimentary to other potential treatments or effective alone."

The protein is a variant of ACE2 (angiotensin converting enzyme-2), the receptor the coronavirus uses to enter and infect human cells. The modified protein intercepts the S spike of the coronavirus and fools it into binding to it rather than the real ACE2 receptor in cell membranes.

The study is the first proof of concept that a soluble human ACE2 protein is effective in vivo in a preclinical study using an appropriate animal model. The soluble ACE2 protein variant developed by Batlle and colleagues binds well to the coronavirus and has been enhanced so it's effective for days......

Herd immunity is the only safe, reliable defense. And why they are not testing for antibody titers we do for measles, mumps, etc. is the question. If a person shows they have sufficient antibodies against covid, that is all they need. No vaccinations necessary. It’s just a blood test.

Sure-— bring in MORE designer Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2 proteins to try to “fool” the spike S-proteins on the surface of the SARS-Cov19/20 CCP Wuhan coronavirus. That will help==

This is SO out of date in needless speculation- Go back to the MedCram series on youtube— have posted the Continuing Education certified presentations there by Dr. Scheulte, pulmonologist— on the mechanism of infection (the ACE2 receptors on the surface of lung cells is sought out by the S-Spike proteins on the exterior of the Covid virus— and the “key” meets the “lock” ACE2 receptor and voila— IN comes the foreign Viral mRNA that infects the lung cell which replicates and expands spreads the virus infected cells to then die and create the template for VIRAL pneumonia converted to bacterial. Overwhelm the lungs with detritus and blockage (then cascades of failing CYTOKINE explosion— which kills the victim rapidly).

So— put MORE ACE2 protein around in the plasma to “adsorb” (the correct word) and “take up” the covid S proteins and “coat” them with the ACE2/S protein amalgam around each viral particle?

Would it not be better to use Zinc, bioflavinoids, Vit D3, Vit C and N-Acetyl Cysteine (zinc ionophore) to PREVENT any S protein from ever connecting with an ACE2 receptor-— in the first place? Which is what also HCQ and Ivermectin does-. If the potential victim is also taking a potent ACE2 Blocker for blood pressure control (Losartan, Candesartan generic names for these drugs)-— the blockage is nearly complete when added to the above.

This is all in the MedCram series, and is well known to the Marik (Eastern Virginia Medical School) protocols, and also to Johns Hopkins. Well known. And is being used by millions of people to prevent infection. vs. this continuous silly ‘well we can vaccinate— and maybe it will get the numbers down” shotgun approach.

I've often wondered if a virus could be filtered from the patient's blood by running it through a filter coated with the target proteins.

That might be even safer than flooding a patient's bloodstream with those proteins, it should be less apt to provoke an autoimmune response...

No idea, but pills at least can be stopped at any time if side effects are noticed. I am reminded what my Pastor has said “ be very, very careful what you choose to have injected into your body”....there is no going back once injected....that said, I have done just fine for over a year going to church, work,vacation, shopping, visiting my 89 year old mother frequently ( she has not bought into the fear), not wearing the face diapers....and not buying into the massive, manufactured fear peddling.
