Elliot Page, the actor formerly known as Ellen Page but who now identifies as a man, “collapsed” after being asked to wear a dress at the 2010 premiere of Christopher Nolan’s hit movie “Inception,” according to an interview Page gave to Oprah Winfrey.
During Page’s sit-down interview for Oprah, Page claimed to have suffered a panic attack during the international press tour for “Inception” out of pressure to conform with Hollywood gender demands.
“There was so much press and so many premieres all around the world and I was wearing dresses and heels to pretty much every single event,” Page said, as reported by IndieWire.
Page said that a horrible panic attack occurred at the Paris premiere, after a staff member brought three dresses as formal wear options for the film’s initial screening.
“I lost it, it was like a cinematic moment. That night, after the premiere at the after-party, I collapsed. That’s something that’s happened frequently in my life, usually corresponding with a panic attack,” Page said. “Ultimately, of course, it’s every experience you’ve had since you were a toddler, people saying, ‘The way you’re sitting is not ladylike, you’re walking like a boy. The music you’re listening to as a teenager,’ obviously, the way you dress. Every single aspect of who you are constantly being looked at and put in a box in a very binary system. That’s what it leads to.
Page also claims to have suffered from severe anxiety after being nominated for an Oscar for for “Juno”
“That was a pretty intense time. I remember it felt so impossible to communicate with people how unwell I was because obviously there is so much excitement,” said Page. “The film unexpectedly became a big hit, I became quite known, all these things and I felt I couldn’t express just the degree of pain I was in.”
“So the Oscars, for example, I could not look at a photo from that red carpet,” Page added. “People might watch this and say, ‘Oh my gosh, this person is crying about the night they went to the Oscars.’ And I think again that prevents the ability to allow yourself to not just feel the pain but reflect on the pain, to even begin to sit down and bring it all up and finally confront all of that.”
Page came out as transgender and non-binary in early December 2020, roughly six years after coming out as a lesbian.
“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” Page said in a statement posted to Twitter. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
You can’t ask a manly guy like that to wear a dress. Jeez!
So… as a man she was offended about wearing a dress?
What an evil, hateful misogynist.
Post modernists have a belief that “reality” is what they create, rather than being outside of their perception. This allows a mentally confused person to feel justified. I would guess “eliot” page considers its’ ovaries a birth defect, and its’ XX chromosomes as birth defects also.
Oh my God, how horrible. I reacted that way when I was 10 and was asked to wear a dress to anything, but I grew out of that by 13.
Honestly, I think it’s all for attention and she really has no clue who she is as a person. As a result, she’ll try anything as long as it’s for the feelz. I suppose this is what happens when you start off in Hollywood at a young age... All of them came out screwy in one way or another.
I won’t wear a dress either, but I don’t recall anyone ever asking me to either. But I don’t recall anyone ever asking me to either.
I’m sure just a coincidence that Hollywood is dying right now (culturally and financially). Pure coincidence.
So, is she going to play men in the movies now?
I’m guessing she has several lucrative offers.
Never heard of him, her or it.
Too late, she already cut off her breasts.
I feel sorry for her. She clearly needs psychiatric help, which in the current climate she will almost certainly not get. In 10-20-30 years she may realize what these people have done to her, but it will be too late for a happy life.
For someone that sensitive....they probably need to find a cabin in Oregon and just live a quiet lifestyle.
What a shame. A beautiful girl. Now a complete basketcase.
If somebody who just paid me over a million dollars asked me to wear a dress (or even a thong bikini) for one party, I would.
Yup, as would I. Even in broad day light!

A mental illness they want us all to accept
It needs to be institutionalized.
If anyone issued her a man card, it ought to be revoked.
If a women can self-identify as a man I would like to self-identify as fully vaccinated and wearing two face masks.
Ellen to Elliot.
If you change your name from a feminine to a masculine name, aren’t you perpetuating that “very binary system” you deplore?
Anyway, Len would have been a more apt choice, don’t you think?
