Ian Patrick Williams, a 25-year-old college senior studying computer science, was charged Wednesday by King County prosecutors with second-degree murder and held on a $2 million bail for stabbing a man only seconds after encountering him outside a Bothell apartment complex, according to court documents.
Bothell police said Williams — who has no criminal record — is seen on video surveillance suddenly lunging and stabbing 29-year-old John Huynh 45 seconds after Williams allegedly made an obscene gesture at Huynh, who had never met Williams before, according to witnesses.
According to police documents, Huynh was leaving a Bothell apartment along with several people, including his wife, while Williams — who lived in the apartment building — was standing outside near the door.
Witnesses told Bothell police that Williams immediately “gave the middle finger” to Huynh, who was leaving the building.
Witnesses told police that Huynh then asked Williams if he “flipped him off or waved at him.” A witness told police seconds later, he saw “Williams pull out a knife and stab the victim in the heart.”
Police said a lot of witnesses at the apartment building and at restaurants across the street with outdoor seating saw everything that happened.
“Easily, 10, if not more,” Keller said. “I would think there would probably be in the ‘more’ category right now.”

A GoFundMe page has raised more than $60,000 for Huynh’s widow to pay for funeral expenses, which include transporting the body to Pennsylvania, where Huynh was born.

Watched the video; the mask commie complained to his mom that an anti masker attacked him. I did not read or hear that any witnesses say anything about the victim being an anti masker he may have simply not been wearing one.

I agree, the article is written poorly.
I 'believe', that a pro-masker stabbed, and killed, a man who was not wearing a mask - because the stabber believed the stabbee was an anti-masker (no evidence of such a belief - other than the stabbee was not wearing a mask).
I agree with others comments - the primary cause is that the stabber was mentally insane. But I'll go ahead and blame CNN for driving him insane.

Masker stabbed maskless man. Masker claims to be the victim of an assault that precedes the murder.
He admitted everything for a 2nd degree charge. He admitted he attacked him and did injury with intent. This is the other side of the coin when you claim defense. You have to cook to all the facts that form a basis for 2nd degree murder if the defense isn’t justified.

More and more there needs to be an adjective like "superstitious" but for somebody who follows crazy half baked notions based on junk science rather than superstitions.

Seems to one guy that the account being given is this: Man Karen peacocks in front of his Karen wife by confronting unmasked man about his lack of a mask. Umasked man flips Man Karen off. Man Karen is not sure he saw it right. Man Karen asks unmasked man to clarify what the gesture was. Unmasked man confirms that he, in fact, flipped off Man Karen. In response, Man Karen kills unmasked man.
Man Karen has a wife? I thought he lived with his mom.

Maybe not in this case, as the person doing the killing was doing it to support the cause of mask-wearing, so why risk making him out to be a bad person...at least that’s how CNN will look at it.
