With a majority of adult Americans now at least partially vaccinated against coronavirus, roughly a quarter of adults say they will not try to get the shot, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS. That vaccine-hesitant 26% is much more willing to return to regular activity, far less confident in the government health officials overseeing vaccine rollouts, and opposed to vaccine requirements for everyday activities.
Overall, the poll seems to point to a country on the road to normalcy, with about 7 in 10 having gotten a vaccine or planning to do so and two-thirds comfortable returning to their regular routines. But there are sharp divisions by vaccine willingness over the role vaccines might play in a return to pre-pandemic life.
In the poll, 55% of adults say they have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 45% have not -- which matches with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's statistics on vaccine distribution. Those who have not yet received a dose at this point are more likely to say that they will not try to get one than that they will seek it out. All told, 26% of adults say they will not try to get a coronavirus vaccine, about the same as those who said so in March, while 16% say they haven't yet gotten one but will do so.
Republicans remain the group most likely to say that they will not try to get a vaccine. Almost half of Republicans, 44%, feel that way, compared with 28% of independents and 8% of Democrats. Within Republicans, resistance to vaccines is concentrated among the young.

I’m aware. I ignore comments like that which bring zero value to the discussion and lead only to a descent into flame wars. Jim has asked us to do so and this is his site, so I respect his requests and his rules.
Some choose not to do so. I make a different choice.
I don’t mind passionate dialectic and that’s all this is to me anyways-a fight for the truth.
Oh I’m perfectly happy engaging in spirited discussion with people who don’t agree with me. We’ll make our points and hopefully the truth can emerge.
But if someone’s response to posting factual information with authoritatively sourced links to back it up is simply “screw you”, then there’s no discussion to be had. That person isn’t interested in truth. They’re interested in pushing a narrative that doesn’t survive basic scrutiny. Why? I don’t typically care to speculate on the motives for why someone is ignoring facts and lashing out when they’re presented.

Why would anyone care about non vaccine people if they took the vaccine. CNN is a propaganda machine.
I think it’s mostly pride but I suspect darker motives for some. That’s a line I can’t cross.
Keep testing for antibodies.
Friends of ours had it over a year ago and are still putting out antibodies. They are not even considering getting these experimental shots.

The vaccine industry is pure evil
I have vaccinated a lot of people who have previously had the virus. they almost always report a more robust response to the vaccine (chills, body aches, fevers). They always deny any shortness of breath though which I think is important. I’m not sure what the point is of getting the vaccine and I don’t question them about it.
Once again, I am no scientist. And love differing opinions (not CNN by the way - for goodness sake). We will know in a few months if those who fall from variants are mostly the vaccinated. Most of my friends and family are vaccinated, so hopefully the scientists and vaccine creators who are sounding the alarm are wrong. Variants have been popping up in the UK, Brazil, and recently India. If those vaxed have ruined their immune system due to a vaccine that works great - very well for the original strain but not variants, it will be a rough year or two. cheers - I am not a combative person.

You certainly have a lot of confidence in these experimental substances, considering that we are told that they do not prevent us from contracting the virus, or from passing it along to others.
What makes you think that the vaccinated will be fine?
All any of us here should care about is discovering the truth. There should be no agenda beyond that for any of us and I can't think of a more powerful or useful ally. Anyways, I'm out.
It makes me very angry that they poll this.
The motivation for doing so is evil.
