CNN Poll: About a quarter of adults say they won't try to get a Covid-19 vaccine: 44% of Republicans vs 8% of Democrats Resist Vaccine

With a majority of adult Americans now at least partially vaccinated against coronavirus, roughly a quarter of adults say they will not try to get the shot, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS. That vaccine-hesitant 26% is much more willing to return to regular activity, far less confident in the government health officials overseeing vaccine rollouts, and opposed to vaccine requirements for everyday activities.

Overall, the poll seems to point to a country on the road to normalcy, with about 7 in 10 having gotten a vaccine or planning to do so and two-thirds comfortable returning to their regular routines. But there are sharp divisions by vaccine willingness over the role vaccines might play in a return to pre-pandemic life.

In the poll, 55% of adults say they have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 45% have not -- which matches with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's statistics on vaccine distribution. Those who have not yet received a dose at this point are more likely to say that they will not try to get one than that they will seek it out. All told, 26% of adults say they will not try to get a coronavirus vaccine, about the same as those who said so in March, while 16% say they haven't yet gotten one but will do so.

Republicans remain the group most likely to say that they will not try to get a vaccine. Almost half of Republicans, 44%, feel that way, compared with 28% of independents and 8% of Democrats. Within Republicans, resistance to vaccines is concentrated among the young.

BS. Just look at the CDC website. 38,000,000 cases of flu reported in the 2019-2020 flu season. There were approximately 2,000 reported flu cases this year but there were 31,000,000 million COVID cases reported. Do you really believe that the annual flu pretty much completely disappeared this year for the first time in 50 years? You don’t have to be a rocket surgeon to figure out what is being done with the numbers. You should go ahead and believe the gubmint propaganda about the killer COVID but I don’t. I already got a flu shot this year. I suspect that I am covered and I won’t worry at all about scary mutations.

Social media.......yep, that’s the first place I would run to if my loved one died unexpectedly.

I could make post under a fake name all day long showing pics, heart breaking stories, implying or saying the vaccine “did this”......whatever “this” was/is.

Interesting on how people who use to claim expertise in finding cracks in narratives, researching stories sometimes literally to death, never bother to dive into the people claiming what they want to hear on social media.

Whistle blower “Nurse’s Aids” make bold unheard of claims, carry on unchallenged, for example.

Why is that?

There's mortality and then there's morbidity.

In the decade before 1963 when a Measles vaccine became available, nearly all children got measles by the time they were 15 years of age. It is estimated 3 to 4 million people in the United States were infected each year. Also each year, among reported cases, an estimated 400 to 500 people died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 1,000 suffered encephalitis (swelling of the brain) from measles.

While rubella was not typically a severe childhood illness, it could be fatal when pregnant women were infected. Before the vaccine, each year about 20,000 babies were harmed when their mothers were infected during pregnancy. For this reason rubella parties were recommended by pediatricians to ensure that young girls were exposed before they were old enough to become pregnant. Today, with the availability of a vaccine, doctors and parents can be assured that children are becoming immune to these diseases in the safest way possible.

Never said “Official Sources”. That’s you making things up.

I actually prefer people on the ground, in the field, on the frontlines and their information.

And people on social media ARE on the front lines.

Unless they're trolls like you.

At age 74, as I said earlier, I have had both PFIZER shots on the advice of my family physician.

Otoh, my MD can see NO good reason whatever for you & your wife to be vaccinated as you are now at least 90+% IMMUNE.
(Dr. Andrews & his RN/NP told me that about 60 days ago & before I was vaccinated.)

IF you are one of the small minority that could be re-infected, he said that you will have FEW or NO chances of being quite ill, “the 2nd time around”.
(The SAME is TRUE about us “vaccinated folks”.)

As you have doubtless guessed, I trust my MD & his RN/NP assistant.

yours, ex-cadet
