With a majority of adult Americans now at least partially vaccinated against coronavirus, roughly a quarter of adults say they will not try to get the shot, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS. That vaccine-hesitant 26% is much more willing to return to regular activity, far less confident in the government health officials overseeing vaccine rollouts, and opposed to vaccine requirements for everyday activities.
Overall, the poll seems to point to a country on the road to normalcy, with about 7 in 10 having gotten a vaccine or planning to do so and two-thirds comfortable returning to their regular routines. But there are sharp divisions by vaccine willingness over the role vaccines might play in a return to pre-pandemic life.
In the poll, 55% of adults say they have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 45% have not -- which matches with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's statistics on vaccine distribution. Those who have not yet received a dose at this point are more likely to say that they will not try to get one than that they will seek it out. All told, 26% of adults say they will not try to get a coronavirus vaccine, about the same as those who said so in March, while 16% say they haven't yet gotten one but will do so.
Republicans remain the group most likely to say that they will not try to get a vaccine. Almost half of Republicans, 44%, feel that way, compared with 28% of independents and 8% of Democrats. Within Republicans, resistance to vaccines is concentrated among the young.

Do you mind telling me your ages? My wife and I (both 70) have been taking D3 5000 iu, along with zinc, 50 mg as well as C, B12 and some other vitamins and supplements. We thought we had it early last year but I tested negative. My wife hasn’t been tested for the antibodies. We are both reluctant to get any of the currently available vaccines.

If that were the case variants wouldn't have appeared before there was even a vaccine. Yet they did, ipso facto your assertion is false.
No, it’s not because although the variants may appear at any time, and do, if the original strain is prevented from spreading due to the vaccinations, the only thing left to spread is the variants.

I am 71 and wife is 70. Both of us tested positive, neither of us even knew we had it. I refuse to get the vaccine, wife got jabbed with Pfizer two months ago... no reaction. Vital in D3 and Zinc(50mg) is my vaccine.

Yes of course. After 3,500 years, smallpox suddenly disappeared right as a worldwide vaccine program picked up. Total coincidence. Vaccine had nothing to do with it. 3,500 years and hundreds of millions of dead humans, and just at the moment when the vaccine came out, it simply decided not to infect people anymore.

So with those people, the people opting for a vaccination, herd immunity can certainly be reached.

Sanitation more than likely played some role in pre-vaccine times but another factor was living arrangements.
People were moving out of the big cities and the population boomed in the Midwest and middle America.
Large cities were a Petri dish of diseases and spread.
The final nail in the virus coffin was vaccines.

Like i sa8d, i think,people greatly underestimate exactly what clean water and effective sanitary sewer treatment processes have done to eradicate so many communicable diseases.
Moving to the suburbs and spreading out wouldnt have been successful if the water/sewer technologies hadn’t come along with them. They got the newer systems and new water and sewer procesing texhnologies yas they spread out.

I think you’re correct on water and sanitation.
Biggest takeaway though is the first 60 years, as more modern sewer and sanitary systems are implemented, is the greatest reduction in diseases and mortality mong people.
Thats whats responsible for it. The vaccines start trickling in when the disease mortalities are already registering near zero.
