I have business associates who have followed this story closely, and I was surprised at how low-key they've been about this ruling.

Apparently AB5 is not a big issue for any independent trucker who runs his business correctly. It's amazing how many people try to run a business as a "contractor" without having even so much as a separate bank account for the business. These are giant red flags for the IRS even without AB5 in California.

The only way around AB5 is to become an LLC, I doubt most Independent Truckers will go down that road. Maybe? We will find out soon, that is for sure.
