President Joe Biden's first address to a joint session of Congress received a less enthusiastic reception than those of his immediate predecessors, according to a CNN instant poll of speech watchers.
Roughly half of viewers, 51%, fell in the "very positive" reaction category. A chart showed that is a lower figure than was recorded for former Presidents Donald Trump in 2017, Barack Obama in 2009, and George W. Bush in 2001, whose "very positive" scores in the same poll were 57%, 68%, and 66%, respectively.
More than 70% of speech watchers said the speech made them feel more optimistic as compared with 29%, who were more pessimistic after the address, and 58% of respondents said Biden's outreach to the GOP was "just about right," as compared with 38% who felt it "did not go far enough" and 4% who said it "went too far."

It was determined that 51% was the highest believable/plausible number. So, 51%. Snap!
It will be interesting to see whether his viewership was above or below that of the Oscars — for the 18-49 demographic.
The talking heads are undoubtedly surprised than an election thief with the personality of a turnip didn’t do better.
Especially since they all said four months ago that he was “the most popular candidate in history who got the most votes in history and and and everybody just loves him.”
A jackass can be nothing more than a jackass.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on, it's time to go
Is there a Reader’s Digest version to the speech somewhere?
All he did and can do is repeat the same old tired worn out lines like “never bet against America” and what ever other phrases he can mumble thru.
Biden’s a failure and can never be more than that....never was and never will be. He is NOT a leader by any sense of the word. He’s weak and a clown.
>> with the personality of a turnip
C’mon, man!
Exactly. From I watched of his speech it was him just very feebly and weakly reciting his lines. He had no command presence, just a empty suit reading words on a screen.
It really goes back to him plagiarizing a speech when he ran for POTUS in the 80 that forced him to drop out. He has always been like this his entire career.

I suppose you could count me in the 70% category: Biden's speech made me feel more positive about my next bowel movement.
Difficult to rise to the occasion when one is napping.
Failed to watch any portion of ‘his speech’ broadcast.
Slept right through it.
:-)
Is Reader’s Digest still being published?
No? Oh well, how about Weekly Reader?
And personally, a favorite: Ripley’s Believe
It Or Not.
OK. . .are you trying to insinuate I’m old? LOL
Certainly no older than I!
These days this old age does have some advantages,
believe it or not. :-)
We do live in interesting times.
For instance read an article this AM about parents demanding
a meeting with their school board re their children/masks. A very large group of citizens arrived for the meeting (peacefully) and the board members fled in terror. Believe this was in Idaho. Later in the day read another article, same story but the state was Colorado. Even later in the day Another article with the state being Virginia. Finding myself old enough to be unable to read, unable to remember.
OLD! :)
I got the crux of it on the Conservative News app this morning. Enough to reinforce I didn’t miss anything and waste my time last night. Same old goofy crap.
