John Maynard Keynes is alleged to have said ‘When the facts change, I change my mind — what do you do, sir?’ I am no fan of Keynes generally, but there is something to be said for that pithy ‘second-thoughts’ comment. It pains me to admit it, but the President’s address to the joint session of Congress put me in mind of Keynes’s observation. After all, was it not a rousing address? Even long-time critics acknowledged it. One described it as ‘a perfect blend of strength and empathy’. I have to agree. That same commentator wrote that ‘Tonight, I was moved and inspired. Tonight, I have hope and faith in America again.’
I think a lot of people fell that way. Many people agreed with him. Yes, it’s early days yet. But let’s face it. The President has already racked up significant victories. Think about his energy policy, his attack on illegal immigration, his efforts to dismantle or at least pare back the leviathan that is the administrative state, his proposals to reduce the tax burden for both businesses and individuals while also strengthening America’s military: in these and other initiatives has he not taken bold steps to fulfill his campaign promises to return power from Washington to the People and ‘make America great again’.
Oops: I was talking about the wrong speech! That was about Donald Trump’s 2018 State of the Union address, in which he called upon Americans to put aside the partisan passions that divide ... It was his next State of the Union address, in 2020, when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, sitting directly behind President Trump, capped the evening picking up a copy of the speech and tearing it in two.

Joe Biden is the least charismatic politician in a long time to become President. He won for two reasons. #1 - he’s not Trump. #2 - he’s not a socialist (unlike Bernie Sanders)
You forgot ‘mail-in voting’, and all of the possible (likely) attendant fraud.
Yep. I agree that may had helped to push Joe across the finish line in Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Phoenix. But fair or not, some people did not agree with President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus “pandemic” and that decided the election right there.
I disagree.
I think President Trump handled the pandemic as well as anyone in his position could. I don’t see Biden handling it at all, except insofar as he’s taking credit for everything that Trump actually DID.
The pandemic was used as an excuse to change the way elections are handled, which left massive opportunities for fraud. The execution of the last general election will be used as precedent to continue those opportunities.
Did you witness President Trump’s huge and enthusiastic rallies, as opposed to Biden’s flaccid little ‘meetings’?
Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining!
I don’t know where you live but an easy way to spot a Biden voter is a person wearing a mask outdoors even if he is the only person walking in the park. The point is that there are a lot of people who thinks like that person. Fearful. In 2016, Hillary was a lousy candidate. Even so, if Hillary had an extra 100,000 votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, she would had won, not Trump. In 2020, all the Biden voters stayed at home and didn’t go to a rally unless it was BLM/ANTIFA.
You’re conflating an awful lot of disparate things in that post. There’s no real logic to it.
But, believe what you like.
You too.
As long as it gets the rest of you pusillanimous jerks off the couch and doing something to actually FIX our dying Country.
You’re the one who was pusillanimous. Notice that I keyed up on you on account of you criticizing another FReeper because of “your god”.
In the scenario I outlined, such a FReeper would survive to fight another day and you’d be gone, all your efforts in vain.
You should read the book “Your God is too Small” and then reconsider your criticism.
Run and hide then... Live another day.
We’ll be behind enemy lines while you’re behind bars.
You are already behind enemy lines and you may as well already be in jail.
Be a good German.
You should look in the mirror. You’ll be the first to be rounded up. And since you appear to have embraced godlessness, you will be turned in prison due to such shared viewpoint with your captors. Commies turned hundreds of thousands in this way.
In the end you’ll die for nothing. At that time your login name will be appropriate.
We took our eyes off the ball.
No need to project your own inadequacies on me either.
... and no. I will not be "rounded up". Nor will I see the inside of a jail cell.
Don't worry your fuzzy little head over it though. Go back to your comfortable life.
Maybe you should just do what you do, let others do what they do, and leave your criticism of other people’s God to yourself.
But I doubt you can do that.
You are awfully judgmental. Isn't judgement another of those things you aren't supposed to do?
I'll let you have the last word. I've seen your type before... like a yappy little dog... Yap on yapper...
Thanks for the last word. You’re wrong about being godless. Unless you have Christ you got nothing.
