We wasted our time, treasure and sadly the lives of many brave American soldiers in an effort to transform a 9th century Islamic dung heap into anything resembling a democracy. Afghanistan is a perfect example of how deeply entrenched Islam keeps society in a tribal state. I would predict in 100 years Afghanistan will be little different than it is today.
Any lion tamer know there’s no point trying to turn a lion into a house cat. They best he can hope for is to train it not to eat his face.
You can’t force the Afghanis to be civilized but you can force them to not to give terrorist organizations sanctuary and safe harbor from which to plan, train and implement campaigns of terrorism against the West.
Yeah, but we have a lot more four star Generals than during World War II... That's a win, right? And the military is politically correct and in a state of purging out conservative Americans. That's a win.
And transgenders are welcomed back to get their surgeries on the taxpayers dime. Who can object to that?..
So who cares if the military can't win a war? Or that their only 'enemy' is traditional Americans? Really Mojo, get your priorities straight... /s

I remember a story about a base that was under attack all the time from a nearby village. The military setup cameras but the obama admins got a complaint from the local leader in the village that they did not like having a camera looking at them.
The camera was removed. You cannot win a war if you do not kill the enemy including their leaders.
The problem is, a lot of Americans still believe such a thing to be possible.
