James Carville goes off on 'wokeness' (CNN, whut?)
CNN ^ | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 04/27/2021 5:23:16 PM PDT by RoosterRedux

"Wokeness is a problem and everyone knows it. It's hard to talk to anybody today — and I talk to lots of people in the Democratic Party — who doesn't say this. But they don't want to say it out loud."

Asked by Illing why not, Carville responded succinctly: "Because they'll get clobbered or canceled."

Whether you agree with Carville or not, there's documented proof that he is right. The rise of former President Donald Trump was built on the idea that Democrats and the media were trying to tell you what you should think and feel. And if what you actually thought or felt was outside of that prescribed view, that you were out-of-step or intolerant or even a bigot.

In NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist poll conducted shortly after the 2018 midterm elections, a clear majority of people (52%) said they were "against the country becoming more politically correct and upset that there are too many things people can't say anymore." Just 36% said that they were "in favor of the United States becoming more politically correct and like when people are being more sensitive in their comments about others."

Whatever Carville is involved in, you can bet it’s not sincere and it’s not honest.

There is always a primary motive that has nothing to do with what he actually says.

Don’t misunderstand James.

It’s not that he is against being WOKE, just against the Democrats jumping in “whole-hog” into that concept because it will limit their control, their power in the Americal Political/Legal system.

In affect, he is saying don’t over-emphasize being WOKE.

That’s weird, they managed to get 85m votes with wokeness and riots. I’d call that a very strong mandate. They cheated and everyone knows it!

I agree. Carville isn't asking the Dems to change their overall goal, only their methods, so that they can achieve it by more sophisticated deception.

Carville is smart enough to realize that “wokeness” will ultimately turn the Democrat party into a caricature of itself and thus drive it into irrelevance.

Correct.

The point of "wokeness" is not to gain power. It is to weaken and destroy America and Western Civilization.

Qui bono? (Who benefits) All our enemies. The Chinese laugh at us. Consider "Bazuo"

Baizo refers to people who "only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment," who "have no sense of real problems in the real world," who only advocate for peace and equality to "satisfy their own feelings of moral superiority" and who are "obsessed with political correctness" that they "tolerate backward Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism," reads Zhang's article published in opendemocracy.com on May 11.

“Just 36% said that they were in favor of the United States becoming more politically correct...”.

I wonder how many of the 36% answered this way just to avoid being politically incorrect and then getting canceled themselves.

The Revolution always ends up eating its own. It was that way with with the French Revolution. It was with the Russian Revolution. And it will be this way with this Revolution. Carville just sees the writing on the wall and is trying to avoid it. But he won’t. Hopefully they will hang him, Bill and Hillary from the same limb on the same tree.

What’s striking about this interview is how he refers to Marjorie Taylor Greene as some sort of looney outlier within a “party of liars”.

Make no mistake, as much as all these people bitch about the Republicans, nothing frightens them more than the prospect of the MAGA crowd taking over the party and putting the establishment types out to pasture.

He’s just mad because they don’t lie like they used to. He’s all good with everything they do, he’s a Rat; but he’s mad that they are outright saying it and doing it instead of lying about it.

He is a scumbag and a liar... but he is politically astute enough to realize that the demonization of the majority of a population is hardly a good political move.

You just placed Carville into the same category as Josef Stalin, Niccolo Machiavelli and Charles Manson.
