PHOENIX — A contractor hired by Arizona's state Senate to oversee the recount of 2.1 million ballots from November’s election in the county that includes the metro Phoenix area wants a judge to keep secret its methods for ensuring ballot secrecy.
The request came ahead of a hearing set for late Monday morning.
A judge on Friday ordered the state Senate and ballot recount contractor Cyber Ninjas to submit their policies and procedures for ensuring voter privacy and ballot secrecy so he could review them.
Cyber Ninjas filed policies under seal Sunday afternoon and asked for the hearing to be closed to the media and to the public.
Late Sunday night, a Maricopa County Superior Court judge was forced to remove himself from presiding over a case challenging the election audit underway at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Judge Christopher Coury said his recusal came after receiving new documents from attorneys defending Cyber Ninja's, the company that was hired by Arizona Senate Republicans to conduct the audit.
"In the documents filed today, several attorneys appeared whose names previously were not on notices of appearance prior to Friday’s hearing. That is not surprising, given the short fuse in which the hearings have proceeded. The involvement of one attorney whose name appeared on the filings for the first time today requires me to recuse," said Coury, in an email to attorneys representing all parties in the case.

There are audit standards that suggest an auditor should keep their methods confidential to prevent the audited from figuring out how to circumvent them.
Why doesn’t the attorney have to recuse?
I was only kidding weeks ago when I said we’re still sunk because a state was hiring Ballot Count USA “a Soros Company.”
Just made that up.
Now there really is a company called Cyber Ninja (hopefully not a Soros company). And they want to keep it all secret?Cyber Ninja isn’t a satire?
Makes sense when you audit a company, makes no sense in this case where "the audited" is a pile of ballots.
Not much being hidden from the public except for the truth.
Cyber ninjas is Jovan Pulitzer. Not Soros.
Never said it was from Soros, just part of last month’s gag.
But I'm sure there are DEMONRAT HACKS who've infiltrated Cyber Ninjas and already discovered all there is to know.
Why would they want that?
Doug Logan, the founder of Florida-based firm Cyber Ninjas, repeatedly shared pro-Trump election fraud conspiracy theories on a now-deleted Twitter account, according to The Arizona Republic. Logan’s firm has been hired by Arizona’s GOP-controlled Senate to conduct a new post-election audit of results in the state’s most populous county. Multiple recounts and audits have confirmed that Trump lost the county to President Joe Biden by roughly 45,000 votes.
This is open to both observers with cameras, unlike the 2020 Election.
Other state legislatures are moving to follow AZ’s lead. Wouldn’t want to leak out sources and methods that would enable fraud parties in those states to get information of how to defeat a similar audit.
Thanks for facts although deprsessing.

Makes total sense. if this audit uncovers fraud, there will be more audits in other states. Don’t want to give them a heads up on how to cover up.
The ‘audited’ is the criminal syndicate that brought forth the counterfeit ballots. The standards are the sources and methods applied to determining whether paper ballots are valid or not.
Is the hired company accredited by some nationally recognized accrediting agency to do the audit according to those standards?
One would hope that, while the methods may be business-sensitive, the contract, which (one hopes) the company signed with the AZ senate, includes what methods are to be open to the public and what methods may be kept confidential from the public (though presumably not the state senators).
Seems to me the judge is setting up a ruling that voters’ privacy is paramount even if they are dead, fictional, or in the country illegally.
“A judge on Friday ordered the state Senate and ballot recount contractor Cyber Ninjas to submit their policies and procedures for ensuring voter privacy and ballot secrecy so he could review them.”
Since the method is secret we can't trust the results.
Of course, priority software in voting machines can't be inspected but we can trust the results.
How does the democrat party have standing to bring a case? This was the default excuse courts used to ignore hearing evidence of the original fraud.
