FL is full of geezers. Geezers are more likely to get an annual flu shot. That might mess with the numbers a bit.

Just read a new study today that came to the conclusion that those who got flu shots were MORE susceptible to getting covid.
“A study8,9 published in the January 10, 2020, issue of the journal Vaccine also found people were more likely to get some form of coronavirus infection if they had been vaccinated against influenza. As noted in this study, titled “Influenza Vaccination and Respiratory Virus Interference Among Department of Defense Personnel During the 2017-2018 Influenza Season:”

Maybe. I feel like heat and humidity and population density probably figure into it too. Michigan is always right in the middle but, Hawaii is always up at the top or near the top. I'm wondering if the native Hawaiians get hit harder by the flu than non-natives. It seems odd and probably significant. Michigan's Covid cases seem to be highly concentrated in Detroit and Detroit tri-county area which is A) densely populated and B)optimized for viral persistence due to longer periods of lower temperatures.
Sunshine is still the best disinfectant in other words...but maybe not in Hawaii.

Many also went out and got their covid shots at the very first opportunity
