Remember the liberal meltdown over the hunting of Cecil the lion a few years ago? Will the same happen with the legal hunting of these elephants, since hunting offends the sensibilities of liberals and late night TV “comedians”????

Just asking.

Liberals will be fine as long as Black People are the ones doing the killing.

Shooting elephants for sport is unconscionable; and I doubt that anyone really needs to shoot them for food.

What is the point of shooting it? Just to prove oneself in some egotistical way?

Elephants are one of the most intelligent animals, and one of those with the largest brains on the planet. They exhibit emotional and social behaviors very similar to humans. Keeping them thriving and available for observation is very important to cognitive science.

We’d have no idea of what we might actually be doing by killing one just for ‘sport’.

I hope that nobody takes Zimbabwe up on this.

I once shared a row of seats on a plane with a guy who owned a safari company in Africa. He confirmed that countries who have legal, managed hunting have an abundance of elephants and other wildlife. Countries who have no hunting have massive problems with poachers.

He sort of implied that sometimes they take care of the poacher problems themselves.

Plus, a big game hunter doesn’t keep the meat. AN elephant can feed a village for a long time. That’s a good thing.
