U.S. Senate Committee Advances Bill To Increase Military Support To Ukraine

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously advanced a bill on April 21 to deliver military assistance to Ukraine, including lethal weapons, to help the Eastern European country counter Russian aggression.

The Ukraine Security Partnership Act would provide Ukraine with up to $300 million per year in military assistance until 2026, $150 million of which is subject to conditions. It needs to be passed by both the House and Senate and be signed by President Joe Biden to become law.

Kyiv is asking the West for more support amid a Russian military buildup near Ukraine’s border and in occupied Crimea. The United States and NATO say the Russian troop movements there are the largest since 2014, when Moscow illegally annexed Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula and backed separatists holding parts of the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in a conflict that has killed more than 13,000 people.

"The United States opposes the almost complete pipeline, which would bring gas from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Nord Stream 2 threatens to circumvent Ukraine and deprive the country of billions of dollars in gas transit fees."

What would Ukraine do to preserve those "billions of dollars in gas transit fees"?

Very strong incentive to sabotage the political environment around Nordstream 2.

So to preserve Ukraine’s grift fees and outright theft from the gas lines, we are opposed to Nord Stream 2?

DC is so hopelessly corrupt it’s truly a farce.

So the politicians are going to put our lives on the line for their enrichment.

The previous 4 years of Trump have shown us just how corrupt this trash is. Trump was taking away their money schemes by not getting involved.
