Several Democratic lawmakers are pushing for Justice Amy Coney Barrett to recuse herself from an upcoming case linked to a conservative group that funded an ad blitz supporting her confirmation to the Supreme Court.
In a three-page letter, the lawmakers argued that Barrett was at risk of bias in favor of a litigant funded by Charles Koch, the conservative billionaire behind a group that bankrolled a high-priced ad campaign for the Trump appointee’s Senate confirmation last fall.
“Statute, constitutional case law, and common sense all would seem to require your recusal,” Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) wrote in an April 16 letter first reported by USA Today.

Slightly off-subject: I’m not happy that Barrett’s going to produce a book for which she’ll get a 2 million dollar advance. Couldn’t she have waited until she retired?
Will it be blank pages, like her copy of the constitution she flashed at her confirmation?

I get your concern. But, aside from Kavanagh, they’ve all received book advances of some sort. ACB’s was just one of the more lucrative advances. Keep in mind two things: This is just the advance. If their books do well, they get back-end money as well so it’s very likely many have eventually made in excess of $2M from book deals. Also, not only did RBG get a book advance, but she received compensation for her movie rights.
Kavanaugh may have received a book deal. But, if he has, I don’t remember reading anything about it.
What a disappointment Amy Coney “My little pony” Barrett turned out to be! She talks like a little girl and appears to have glommed onto Roberts as her new daddy figure.
Should have known if Cocaine Mitch approved her, she would be suspect.
I have never been so sadly disappointed as when Barrett and Kavanaugh betrayed us who supported them so heavily.
