I disagree with your statement that just about every President up to Reagan possessing a strong sense of nationalism. Woodrow Wilson and the Presidents from FDR to Carter, with the partial exception of Eisenhower, were committed to internationalism, including helping establishing the United Nations and other worldwide institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. After World War II, we engaged in two long no-win wars, with the Korean War directed by the U.N.

#72. You’re right. Woodrow Wilson fell short of establishing his League of Nations (a United Nations) when the Senate rejected it on Nov 19, 1919. Thirty-nine globalist Senators voted for it.
