WASHINGTON — As marijuana users celebrate 4/20 on Tuesday, jailed pot dealers are pleading with President Biden to honor his campaign promise to release “everyone” in prison for marijuana.
The White House is involved in initial talks about a new clemency initiative. But advocates want to keep up the pressure on Biden — noting he is directly responsible for jailing many drug dealers, including with the 1994 crime law he authored as a senator.
Biden recanted his “lock ’em up” stance and said in 2019: “I think we should decriminalize marijuana, period. And I think everyone – anyone who has a record – should be let out of jail, their records expunged, be completely zeroed out.”

I disagree with the general idea, but I think this is grist for a good weapon to use against him along the lines of “another of Biden’s broken promises”.
The WOD so easily turns into the War on People (with a side order of civil forfeiture thrown in).
There are no pot prisoners.
Pro pot stoners are huge liars.
Drug dealers knew the score when they were raking in the big bucks doing something illegal and bad for society. In Washington, the state where I have lived my entire life, the authorities looked the other way for the past 50 years. If someone managed to get themself locked up for dealing marijuana it was more along the lines of the feds getting Al Capone on tax evasion. “Jeesh, we can’t get him on all the murders, assaults, arson, burglaries, muggings, and other violent criminal offenses, lets taking him down for the pot dealing.”
He would but Dave’s not here.

99% of the people in jail for user amount marijuana possession fall into three categories...
(1) They pleaded down from a more serious charge.
(2) They were on probation or parole.
(3) They were chronic drug or alcohol offenders.
Not even 6 time repeat offenders.
If you're in prison on a "drug charge", it is a serious and likely repeat offense related to dealing quantities of drugs.
