How 1 risky decision could hurt Republicans' Senate chances (CNN whines)

Candidates matter.

Which is why Senate and House party committees have long reserved the right to wade into contentious primary fights and pick the candidate they believe has the best chance of winning a seat for them in the general election.

And why Florida Sen. Rick Scott's (R) decision, as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, to stay entirely out of all primary fights in the 2022 election is a big deal, and a major risk. "We're not going to participate," Scott told The Washington Post for a profile that ran over the weekend. "I think the public will pick the right candidate, and it'll be somebody that can get through the general election."

There's already several examples on the 2022 Senate battlefield where Scott's non-involvement pledge could have significant consequences.

Like Chris Cillizza and CNN really want more republicans in the Senate, or to take back the majority.

What they're really worried about is that the GOP or NRCC won't be helping to "thwart" the candidates the government doesn't want getting into positions of power.

The states! Choose their own nominees! The horror!! Why they might actually win and cause us problems! We just have to step in and choose who the people will be allowed to choose from! Why aren't you helping us! (stomps feet)

They just LOVE talking about Todd Akin in 2010, etc. But they NEVER mention the slew of losers the Establishmeent supported, who went down in flames against the democrat because they were pantywaists.

Nice try, Chris. We're taking the party back from the Rockefellerites, just as we did before!

One has to understand CNN speak. They really mean the GOP actually has a chance to get back more seats and wish for the bad things to happen.

When the National Enquirer is pumping out more actual news than CNN, there is a serious problem.

When their are Youtubers who have $100 dollar cams getting more viewers than CNN, there is a serious problem.

Memo, CNN.

Also they need to gaslight their idiot base into donating hundreds of millions dollars toward doomed Rat campaigns. Happens every midterm when the “in” party gets it’s @ss kicked. And the @ss kicking of Sleepy Joe next Nov will be severe.

Any time CNN is “concerned” about the GOP, I know the GOP is doing something right for a change!

CNN is very worried that their beloved RINOs are going to get slaughtered.

They are right to worry. I have noticed Leftists leaping to the defense of RINOs now that it’s starting to dawn on them the danger RINOs are in. They are deeply worried that they are about to lose their pretend opposition and that they’re going to get a real opposition instead.

Trump endorsing Bush League Republicans like Micro Rubio is not going to Make America Great Again.

With dems having perfected the art of the steal, I suspect our chances of any future elections going our way are minimal. They’ll throw us a bone every now and then but they aren’t going to relinquish control easily. Certainly not fairly.

Other than Murkowski, is there any other Assistant Democrat that faces peril?
Trump is endorsing them, which makes it nearly impossible to primary them out.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee should stay out of it and I venture to say, state committees should say out endorsing and financing primary candidates. It is a different story when it comes to the general election.

This would work regardless of who controls the GOP, RINOs or otherwise. There seems to be a problem with seemingly good new blood making it Washington only to be consumed by the establishment. Incumbents do not need help from the establishment against primary challengers. The help they get from the establishment keeps them in line and they lose their independence. By the way, there will always be an establishment. It is human nature, just like there will always be cliquish junior high school girls. Who they are may change, but they exhibit the same behavior.

The top tier of the GOP, whether at the county, state of national levels, can stick to refining the platform and focus on winning general elections.

The top tier of the GOP, whether at the county, state or national levels, are Bush League Republicans who are happy to be Assistant Democrats and a fake opposition party.

So the GOPe will stay out and let the primary voters decide. Sounds like the right approach to me.

I hope that is changing. Are you familiar with The Precinct Project? In short, the GOP precinct committeemen vote for county GOP leadership, which then in turn vote for state leadership and then national leadership. Currently there are 100k RINO precinct committeemen, 100k conservatives and 200k vacant seats. There is a big move to fill the 200k vacant seats with MAGA folks.

New comers are not necessarily welcome since they are encroaching on the establishment, but there have been recent cases of MAGA committeemen being elected and the RINOs quitting after being out numbered. Yes, they quit. Their club has been infiltrated and taken over by deplorables.

Sleazza’s position is 100% consistent with the uni-Party self-preservation doctrine: the “ins” must choose the candidates and anoint the winners; none of this “of the People” crap for them. Rigging primaries, allocating funding, programming the voting machines — “the People” seem to need a lot of help electing corrupt drones.

Yes, it was risky of them to choose to certify a fraudulent election.

You have to figure the 10 in the House are toast.

Kemp in Georgia along with Ratburger and the assistant Governor are likely toast in the Republican primary.

Ducey in Arizona, whoever Trump endorses against him will have a big advantage.

As for Senators....Toomey, Blount and Burr are all “retiring”. Trump’s endorsement will go a long way for whoever runs in Pennsylvania, Missouri and North Carolina.

Portman’s seat is up for grabs in Ohio and whoever Trump endorses will have a huge leg up.

Then there is Warnock in Georgia and Mark Kelly in Arizona who will both face re-election after just two years. The candidate Trump endorses will have a huge leg up in both of those races.

Then there’s Murkowski in Alaska....it doesn’t look at all good for her.

I don’t know about Thune in South Dakota, but I do know Trump would love to unseat him.

There are a lot of House and Senate races as well as governorships that are up for grabs.
