...grandma using a walker could kick its ass.Where do I enter that race?
What are the rules?
I'll win every time if they allow dirt bikes.

I hope the author wasn’t paid by the word. “This real-life human-driven mech suit can lift a car and climb over boulders, but it wasn’t built for combat — it was built to race” is only 24 words. I can’t find any more words at the site, either.

Interesting that the winning plane in 1913, the first year of the race, was a monoplane. Then it was biplanes for the next ten years, then monoplanes after that. Also shows that the Italians had a knack for making not not just beautiful cars but also beautiful planes.

My daughter and I saw this at the very last “MAKE” show in San Mateo, California about two years ago. It was parked and we didn’t stick around for the demonstration. I would have loved to seen it in motion!
The developer sounds like a great guy in the video. It’s interesting that the defense market only gets a passing mention regarding a couple of sci-fi movies. I would think that the defense market would be huge and profitable.

I remember that issue! Coincidentally, it was just about the same time when I first read Starship Troopers. I was 10, and really, really wanted a mech suit of some sort.
