• Morning AB, All. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread so reliably and keeping the peace with gentle thread policing. Thank you Bray for weekly written wisdom, Thank all yon contributors for excellent commentary to flesh it all out.

• Below are the words from my daily political diary. It is quite long so scroll on by if not interested. But do stay around and add your commentary and point of view to the thread.

Yes I am compiling a Blog about the great pandemic of 2020 and how my country stupidly shut down the economy.  We will have opinions, political and cultural highlights, my personal experience, social media details, even TV reviews since I watch so much TV while in my home jail.  We shall, as always, end with a smile.

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(another update)

Death of Daunte Wright

It happened in Minneapolis yon descendants, the same place as the death of George Floyd with the help of a cop's knee on his neck.  I am sure that yon descendants have read all about the mighty riots, chaos and destruction caused by angry citizens over death of black people by what appears to be poorly trained cops.

Daunte Wright was no angel.  He was stopped by cops, allegedly, as of this writing, for having smell things dangling down too far from the rear-view mirror....who on earth made that a crime?  Then the cops who stopped Wright discovered he had a bad car tag and more investigation revealed that Daunte had a warrant out for his arrest for the robbery of a woman he was choking.

Wright jumped into his car to avoid being arrested.  One of the cops who stopped him, a female who had been on the Minneapolis for over 20 years, chased Daunte and pulled her stun gun to zap him.  Only she pulled out her gun and accidentally shot and killed Dante.

Can there be anything sadder than these bunch of unfortunate facts that destroyed so many lives?

First, it's a crime to have car small things hanging from your car rear-view mirror?  Ok, so it's not such a good idea but this is why cops have to stop people?  Cops don't have anything better to do?

Second, this female cop pulled out her REAL gun and didn't know it wasn't a stun gun?  Shouldn't a cop know where their stun is and where their real gun is?

Third, did Daunte really think he was going to get away with running from the cops who already had him out of the car and ready to handcuff?  Was that a good idea?

As of this writing the female cop who did the shooting has been charged with second degree involuntary manslaughter and has resigned from the Minneapolis police force.

A couple of other figures in Minneapolis leadership were fired or quit, one for saying the shooting cop deserves a fair hearing.

It's a mess yon descendants.  I hope by the time you are reading this the training of the police is better and there is a better way to capture and keep criminals from breaking away without killing them.

The cops are NOT judge and jury.

MAJOR CULTURE EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(one more update)
Two major deaths this past week

Prince Phillip died at age 99.  Husband of Queen Elizabeth and father of her children, grandfather to Prince William and Prince Harry, Prince Phillip was known for his somewhat abrupt sense of humor.

May he rest in peace and we hear that Meghan Markel won't be attending his funeral services.

Meanwhile, Bernie Madoff died in prison at the age of 82.  Madoff had been stealing from people since the 70's and it said that his theft measured in the billions.

One of Madoff's sons committed suicide.  The other died of cancer.

This is one sad life and likely Madoff won't be seen hanging around heaven.

REVIEWS TV SHOWS
(since I watch so much TV, not for my descendants)
Part 2-Pooch Perfect

I don't normally do TWO reviews of a show but I chanced to watch Pooch Perfect recently and the whole thing was dedicated to Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and every other sexual connation which can mean anything except heterosexual.

I have noticed, of late, plenty of homosexual activity on many shows and frankly I don't want to see two guys kissing or even two girls kissing.  But they insist on shoving it all in our face, read the fly on the wall's story of a recent meeting he attended.

At any rate, the goal on this episode was to groom and/or paint the canine to resemble some kind of extra-sexual flag.  This was before the goats, or course.

Oh, the goats?  The producers had the contenders groom goats and it was a very cute and clever sentiment.  It's quite different grooming a goat than a dog I am to understand.

So who knew there were so many different flags to represent many extra-heterosexual sexual preferences, to include a flag for gays and lesbians, a flag for transsexuals, a flag for every different sort of sexual preference.  Flags?

Further, I learned that all of the contenders were gay or lesbian and I ask myself.....why?  Do only gays and lesbians groom and decorate dogs?

At least nobody was in bed kissing and hugging like a recent episode of New Amsterdam....I mean who wants to watch this?

Everywhere, pay attention, there's various kinds of sexual preferences and they are now putting it brazenly on TV for us, AND OUR CHILDREN....to watch.

It's a bit too much for me.

EDITORIAL
(My opinion for my descendants)
Cops and Arresting People

With all the drama and histrionics over cops in the process of stopping and/or arresting people I think it's time to figure out a way to stop a possible suspect without killing the guy or girl.

Like so many of us, I did see the video of the cop sitting on George Floyd's neck for almost nine minutes until the guy actually died.  Sure, I understand that Floyd was heavily into drugs and they might have, probably, contributed to his death.  Nonetheless, maybe cops should not hold down potential suspect's necks if they think there is a chance their body is filled with Fentanyl.

You might now say that cops can't tell by looking at someone and ascertain that they've taken any kind of drug.

Which is why they need to stop holding down suspects with their knees on their necks.

I love cops.  I was once married to a cop.  I know they don't want to go around killing people.

And how about that lady cop who...what?  She pulled and shot the suspect with her real gun instead of her stun gun....by mistake?

Which is why we shouldn't be carrying stun guns on the same holster as their real guns.  And after 26 years on the job, this woman didn't know where her stun gun was versus her real gun?

There has to be a way to stop suspects from running away without holding them down till they die from lack of breath or by shooting with a mistaken gun.

I don't know how that can happen and, of course, there are times when a suspect is a threat to a police officer or nearby citizens and cops need their real guns to protect themselves and the population.

How about figuring out a way to install a stun gun type of device on the inside or say, a bullet proof vest?  A police officer would then press a button that would have it emit an electronic shock from far away, maybe 25 feet.  Make the shock bad enough to knock the guy over and stop him or her cold.

Well yeah, nearby pedestrians might get a shock they didn't deserve and hey, it might not work.

But you gotta start somewhere.  Once upon a time I would never have dreamed that I'd be able to carry a telephone with me everywhere.  I could also watch TV on it, listen to the radio, take pictures and video, send messages and access the Internet.

There's got to be a way.

Cops are not to serve as judge and juror.  Let's figure out a way to make suspects stop running away without killing them.

THE FLY ON THE WALL

Yes I am a fly and yes I also Blog.  I tend to wander around among the politicians and hear their conversation.  Because I am a fly beneficial to humanity, I share that which I hear. Bear in mind my spelling.  I am, after all, only a fly.

The Gay and Lesbian Meeting

I chanced into the meeting of human Hollywood types by searching for crumbs, as is my wont as a fly.  I did know Valeria, who I see at almost any meeting with any power.

"We need more TV shows and movies featuring individuals who are not solidly heterosexual," Valeria said as I swapped a crumb and listened closely.

"We have to be careful," one of the attendees said.  "Men in particular will switch off the TV as soon as they witness two men kissing.  And they just won't attend any movies if they know such a thing will be on screen."

"That's the idea," Valeria said, circling her fingers in the air in exasperation.   "The more they see it the more they will accept it.  We know it will start slow but how are gay people ever to be accepted by society until they get over their disgust when they see such a thing?"

"There are lots of people who do not think homosexuality is a normal thing, even a sin," one attendee said, a lady I'd seen in various meetings, very religious."

"And THEY are the sinners," Valeria shouted.  "Listen, tax breaks and other aids are available to those who help us out.  Use your common sense.  If a man can kiss a woman on TV, why can't he kiss another man?"  With this Valeria walked out of the room in a huff.

Hey, I don't know but flies can't reproduce by mating male to male or female to female.  Yon humans please tell me how two man or two women can have children?

Bongino explained the mistake in his segment (see link). But like I said I am as far from this red zone stuff that a person can get, so I don't know if the explanation is correct or not.

As of this writing the female cop who did the shooting has been charged with second degree involuntary manslaughter and has resigned from the Minneapolis police force...I hope by the time you are reading this the training of the police is better and there is a better way to capture and keep criminals from breaking away without killing them. The cops are NOT judge and jury.

The police made a tragic mistake in MN, but the primary responsibility for what happened should be placed on the "victim" who resisted arrest and tried to escape. He had an outstanding arrest warrant for armed robbery. He jumped in his car, which itself could be a weapon during any ensuing chase. And he could have had a weapon in the car. IMO a case could be made for using lethal force.

Why is the police officer being charged for involuntary manslaughter while the officer who shot Ashli Babbitt gets off scot-free? We don't even know his name. The MN police officer has had to move out of her house, which is being vandalized by the mob. I am more concerned about the politicization of the justice system than a few isolated incidents of alleged police misconduct.

We are asking the police to deal with societal problems created and fueled by politicians. People like Maxine Waters pour gasoline on to the fire legitimizing attacks on the police, looting, etc. There are over 50 million police interactions with the police annually. Less than 10 unarmed blacks were shot by the police in 2019. How many police are shot and killed annually? Just not buying into the narrative that the police are out of control.

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

Every year Hollywood introduces their new norm. Your fly scenario fits that one.

Their goal is to tear down any individuality of choice, values, or norms.

To them its all about destruction and confusion in the name of supposed “ caring”

My motto, do your thing, but don’t force it on me......

“for having smell things dangling down too far from the rear-view mirror....who on earth made that a crime? “

Cops in certain states can stop you for anything thing hanging from your review
mirror, it blocks your vision.

Ohio, like Minnesota, is one of a number of states with laws on the books that technically allow police to pull over a vehicle for having objects dangling from the mirror.

The American Civil Liberties Union, which has sharply criticized such traffic stops, was unsure how many states allow them.

WHAT DO POLICE SAY ABOUT THESE LAWS?

Police say traffic stops for minor violations have helped them solve more serious crimes, including drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession and shootings.

They often cite the case of Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, who was stopped by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper for driving without a license plate about 90 minutes after the 1995 explosion that killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.

Joe Gamaldi, a police sergeant in Houston who is the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police, said he would be “hard-pressed” to find a police officer he’s worked with who has stopped a motorist simply for having air fresheners dangling from the rearview mirror.

But he said traffic stops for minor violations can lead to police finding evidence of other crimes.
