Coca-Cola says it's 'time to find common ground' on voting measures after pressure from the Right
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/17/2021 | Zachary Halaschak

Coca-Cola, whose CEO denounced the Georgia voting bill, is now striking a conciliatory tone after coming under pressure from conservatives.

The soda giant, which is based in Atlanta, was absent from a list of more than 500 corporations and individuals that signed a statement condemning any election legislation that would “restrict” voters from having “an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.” The missive was placed as a two-page Wednesday ad in the New York Times and Washington Post, with the effort being organized by the Black Economic Alliance.

Coca-Cola said in a statement to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday that the company “had not seen the letter” initiated by the alliance but is “certainly open to hearing their perspective." It said it has supported the right to vote and that it will assess how to support voting rights.

“We believe the best way to make progress now is for everyone to come together to listen, respectfully share concerns and collaborate on a path forward. We remain open to productive conversations with advocacy groups and lawmakers who may have differing views," the company said. "It’s time to find common ground. In the end, we all want the same thing – free and fair elections, the cornerstone of our democracy.”

Coca-Cola’s Wednesday remarks are notably less confrontational than its previous statements on the Georgia voting law.

Loved coke and preferred it. Not anymore. They have already lost many dollars from me this last month. Pepsi is okay, has always been a little too sweet. Will endure it until they get woke. Progressives are exhausting.

Fools. “Common ground” can’t be on your far left social justice BS turf. That’s the Left. Not the Center.

P.S. There currently IS no center. Thanks to the total takeover of the Dems by Marxist-Leninist and Black Power freaks. JFK wouldn’t recognize the Dems today. Stalin would.

OUCH! You definitely hit on a point there.
Coke is known to make very bad business decisions and they
avoid learning how to change that habit.

Classic coke has no place in a fascist USoA, just as they are about to understand they have no place in THIS Free Republic USoA.

Absurdities like “common ground” is one of the reasons we lost the United States to the communists

You bet, there is no common ground with cutthroat cheats and controlling misfits.

Everything they say is a con job and will only benefit them. I like the term they've used for 40 years, with remarks like, "We need, "Immigration reform" which mean dangerous open borders and keep your hands off illegals, while you're forced to feed, house, medicate, jail, educate millions of these people who break our laws.

Of course, Coca-Cola requires ID at their shareholder meetings!!

I'd bet a cup of coffee their corporate headquarters and the wealthy big players running that show have hired guns with facility and personal security being very tight.

Their corporate offices for the big players are like a secured fortress, yet these people want our elections to be a fraud free for all. Very odd.

I unsubscribed from Ford Daily Updates after they opposed Georgia Voter Legislation.

I told them I would no longer support Ford or anyone opposing Fraud Free Voter Legislation. My first car was a Ford a 1947 - 70 years ago. I retired from Ford after 27 years.

I worked for Coca Cola and I never thought they would do something as stupid as this.

RC and Dr. Pepper has now replaced Coke on our shopping list.

I guess you don't remember the "new coke" debacle from about 40 years ago.
