I’ve worked in a bunch of places over the past 39 years. I have never worked in a place that knowingly allowed firearms on the premises. (I’ve know a few places where well placed managers were trained with firearms and ‘might’ have had one in a locked desk.)
Is this something that is common? The liability for the company would be insane.

I read that as well. It was the first thing listed in one of the stories about it—in bold.
I have an AR15. It looks like an M16. But, it has a different bolt carrier group that turns it into a bolt action weapon. I use that for target practice. If I “need” it to be semi automatic, I could make that change in moments. In fact, I practice that.
But to the unaware, it looks like a scary black rifle.
These writers/reporters really need to work on their knowledge before publishing their crap.

I read that with some interest. In MA, even the State Police do hot use automatic rifles—they use pump shotguns and semi auto AR15s. The National Guard obviously has them when they deploy—but most armories have limited numbers.
Unless you are literally in a war, automatic weapons are not useful in a US street fight situation.
What a remarkable coincidence that these types of killings explode when congress is trying to cram gun control legislation down our throats...

Even if he shooter is NOT white they will report him as white. See the supermarket in Boulder, CO where the anti-Semitic Syrian intentionally attacked Jews.
I bet that’s a policy they’ll revisit...probably after they settle the lawsuits.
