When considering:
1) that the kid was shot (and fell) in that exact location shown in that image
and
2) he still was armed (with the handgun being held in his right hand) at the instant the image was captured
and
3) at the instant of of the image he was rotating to his left (weapon still in hand) as he began turning around to face the pursuing officer
and
4) knowing where the gun ended up, it’s obvious that as he continued to rotate to his left he threw down the weapon and also it’s clear that the throw down happened while the kid’s hand would have been blocked from the cop’s view by the kid’s rotating body
and
5) after letting go of the weapon, the kid continued his rotation/turn while raising his hands - including the right hand which a split second prior held a handgun in view of the cop...and in that split second the cop reacted in fear of his life. It was a righteous shooting (except for Monday quarterbacks), IMHO.
Absolutely... Period.
