The Texas Senate approved legislation limiting transgender athletes to competing only in categories that correspond to their birth gender in contravention to the NCAA’s recent decision to allow transgender people to play in their choice of categories.
The Texas bill focuses on “biological sex.” It maintains that athletes born as males will be banned from competing in girls’ sports, although girls would be permitted to play with biological boys if there is no comparable female sport.
“This is about protecting female athletes and recognizing their accomplishments within their biological peer group,” said Sen. Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, author of the bill, according to the Austin-American Statesman.
Texas is not alone in considering laws to restrict athletes from competing in categories that correspond only to their birth gender. Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Idaho have already put similar laws in place. And up to a dozen other states are considering similar measures.

The NCAA could solve the problem by having transgered teams only...
The problem could also be solved by females refusing to compete in an event with a transgender. All the athletes at the starting blocks, gun goes off and only the transgender races. Officials will be confused and most of the public will support the women. The NCAA will have to address the situation.
The NCAA needs Texas far more than Texas needs the NCAA

So the SEC will lose Florida and Texas A&M with the transformer bills passed in Florida. This one will pass in Texas.
The Big 12 will be out Baylor (this year’s Mens hoop champions), the Texas Longhorns, and TCU when this passes.
As I said yesterday on the Florida transformer law thread, the NCAA is dead.
If enough sane states do this it will dilute the targeting effect.

The NCAA sucks...
A number of states with popular teams will neuter any threats from the NCAA. They might try to bite but they'll have no teeth.
Started watching college football in the early 60’s (greatest sport in the history of mankind IMO). I figure 55+ years is a good run. Between BLM and the transgender stuff, I’m no longer interested in either college or pro football.
The NCAA is dead. Long live women’s sports.
