Russia Fires Back at U.S. Sanctions as Relations Worsen, Pledging Reciprocal Measures

Moscow on Thursday expressed outrage at new sanctions the Biden administration imposed as retribution for the SolarWinds hack it attributes to Russia's foreign intelligence service, saying it would respond in kind. The threat comes as relations between the two powers reach dangerous levels of tension.

"We consider them illegal," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Thursday morning in response to news reports about the sanctions but before the administration had formally announced them, according to a translation. "The principle of reciprocity in this matter, reciprocity, is in effect, so that we can ensure our best interests."

The man is a real president in his own mind IMO. If this was just some president of a hardware chain, no problem. The problem for us here, is this joker is like a drunk at the end of the bar at closing time saying back me up with two more as the bouncer readies to 86 him; the barroom is going to get messed up soon.

Here's a bit of personal experience to provide perspective. I worked in IT for 35 years. I did consulting and training at a number of military installations, general government not so much. I witnessed cyber attacks on a regular basis. If you have any friends in cyber security, they will tell you attacks are constant. Certainly, there are lulls and increases, but they are constant. They come from Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, and even our allies. The vast majority are dealt with, cause no damage, and are never heard about. What to conclude? The US Government could make an issue out of any one of these attacks, just about any day, if they wanted. Someone is pushing Xiden's buttons here. Xiden is a dolt. He does not have the intellect to understand what is really going on in the cyber world and the true ramifications. He doesn't even possess the ability to ask the right questions to come to a basic understanding. Someone has his ear and is pushing an agenda.

Personally, I would worry about the cyber attacks from China over all other countries. That's only because we unfortunately need to maintain relations with them. As for Iran and the Norks, well we should just shut them down. I mean lights out. Internet out. No commerce, no banking, nothing going in or out. We could do that if we had the testicular fortitude to do so.

What did China and Obama tell Biden to do? Attention off Iran.

Russia and China will score big gains and then Biden will claim that his agreement with Iran demonstrates world leadership. Meanwhile the rest of the world see’s us as a paper tiger and our former allies lose confidence in us.
