April 14, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) — A new study by Israeli researchers found that a South African variant of COVID may put people who have been vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at higher risk of breakthrough infection compared to unvaccinated people.
The study also showed an increased incidence of the UK variant in those who received one dose of the Pfizer shot.
The study, released April 10, reviewed the positive COVID-19 test results of 800 people — 400 people who tested positive for COVID 14 days or more after they received one or two doses of the Pfizer vaccine against 400 unvaccinated people to see if those vaccinated were more likely to be infected with the UK or South African variant compared with unvaccinated individuals.
The South African variant, B.1.351, was found to make up about 1% of all COVID cases across all the people studied, according to the study by Tel Aviv University and Israel’s largest healthcare provider, Clalit.
But among patients who had received two doses of the vaccine, the variant’s prevalence rate was eight times higher than in those unvaccinated — 5.4% versus 0.7%, Reuters reported.

Actually no and yes.
This is a Corona virus. It mutates that’s what it does ~every 10-12 hrs. Eventually a strain develops that is able to circumvent the artificially induced antibodies and you get break through. Sort of like continually rolling the dice
Corona viruses have repeatedly shown a propensity to do this sort of thing both among strains that exclusively infect animals and those that infect humans (early animal-stage trials for a SARS vaccine which were abandoned for this reason.)
From the numbers in the article, about 58% of the people in Israel have received first doses, and 53% received both doses.

The reality is the shot is 100 times less risky than getting the disease. Maybe 1000 times. Although, the data is incomplete.
That is the most interesting thought IâÂÂve heard about the so-called Variants.
Just yesterday I noticed a huge increase in the African Variant.
I wondered how did it get here and travel so fast through the State (Michigan).
Something to think about for sure.

and its far higher for those who arent old or have prexisting conditions, these are the people where the serious cases are, and they are the serious cases in almost all diseases, its not a shocker
Same with the vaccine: more risky for old people than for young people. We don't have enough data to know the full demographic breakdown for the vaccine yet, but the VAERS shows a lot of old people with complications from the vaccine. The issue is to weigh the risks from the vaccine and from the disease. It's going to be at least 100x safer to get the vaccine than the diease for any age group, maybe 1000x. Need more data. As for the disease itself:

You mean 99% survival from the disease? Yes, at least 99% survival. Maybe quite a bit more if there are lots of hidden cases. It's about 98.5% survival with the known cases. But we are talking about a case of complications from the vaccine, not a fatality.
