Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot spent more than $100,000 on City Hall improvements last year as the city grapples with a billion dollar shortfall.

That tax payer funded spending included $104,682 on the conference room plus another $10,000 on a private roof terrace - which is inaccessible to the public.

The estimate for the conference room upgrades arrived around the same time Lightfoot was preparing to share news about a $1.2 billion budget shortfall, according to Department of Assets, Information and Services records.

Did Chicago not get freight cars of money from the $2.1 trillion bill?

Minneapolis got $27.5 million to spare, at least.

For anyone unfamiliar with SCC...

Here’s why Chicago’s unofficial police blog ‘Second City Cop’ went dark

Certain demographics accept it. I do know some blacks are absolutely sick of it all from THE hypocrisy, riots, race baiting, pandering and demeaning by fellow blacks and scum white liberals but their voices are muted and are vastly outnumbered.

Can groot even reach the top of a mounted 75” touch screen, or will they create another government job so she has somebody to do it for her?

A company I worked for was weeks away from declaring bankruptcy. They had enacted severe austerity. The married president’s girlfriend, who had a show-up-if-she-felt-like-it job got all new office furniture which cost twice what I would have made in a year had they stayed open.

That’s not the only stupid financial decision that happens at companies in trouble, but it was the one that told me the company was doomed. The same is true of politics. Politicians whose political charges are in financial trouble have no problem traveling first class and staying in five star hotels.

In the case of companies and politicians they disassociate the financial problems of the organization they lead from their personal comfort. Their personal comfort is important. The financial problems are not. I believe this is because there is no connection between the consequences of the organization failing and their personal financial situation. THEY will be just fine even when the organization they lead collapses. In the case of companies they get golden parachutes. In the case of politicians, they go on to another office or a sinecure job such as university president.

This is why I’ve been asking for years:

Why do we keep electing slimeballs who make million$ for themselves, and let the government go broke?

I bet you a $20 bill mayor shopping spree doesn’t manage her OWN money that way.

New nickname? Mayor shopping spree? hashtag maybe?

#mayorshoppingspree

I like it...almost as much as I like stompy feet for obama...

Certain demographics accept it.

Bingo. Responsible financial practices are not popular among certain demographics, while other demographics continue to foot the bill.
