DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The recent sabotage at Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facility is just the latest setback for the country's Revolutionary Guard, though the paramilitary force is rarely publicly criticized due to its power.
But with some of its leaders now considering vying for the presidency, the Guard's influence and failures could become fair game.
In just over the last year, the Guard shot down a Ukrainian commercial airliner, killing 176 people. Makes you wonder about using the word “Powerful” in the title to describe an organization that has suffered so many humiliating defeats, including numerous successful attacks on nuclear facilities, assassinations of nuclear scientists and the incineration of Suleimani the master terrorist courtesy of President Trump.
Mossad has the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian nuclear industry painted, targeted and marked for annhilation. Israel’s only fear is that somehow the CIA or NSA has identified the idenities of Mossad operatives in Iran and Biden leftists will give the information to the mullahs.
Simply put: when terror expansionist Islamic Republic is worried... that is good for the West.
I think that killing Soleimani was a lot more impactful than we thought it was at the time.
Over the course of his career, he always seemed to be deeply involved it the IGRC’s operations. Evidently, that was due to a micromanager leadership style. He was either unwilling to delegate responsibility or he simply could not find competent tactical leaders with sufficient islamic revolutionary zeal. Any organization that doesn’t have a deep bench of competent leaders will have trouble over time.
The Israelis are also highly motivated to compound the IGRCs shortcomings. It must suck to be them now.
Thank you for that very insightful observation.
