Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has hung signs on all the major interstate highways entering Florida informing everyone traveling by road into the state that the Sunshine State has implemented E-Verify, a background check system for employers to see if prospective hires are in fact legally authorized to work in the United States.
The signs, DeSantis’s office told Breitbart News, are now visible on all three main interstate gateways into Florida along I-10, I-95, and I-75. The signs come after Florida’s legislature last year passed E-Verify measures which DeSantis signed into law last summer.
“I want all residents and visitors to receive this message: Florida Uses E-Verify,” DeSantis told Breitbart News exclusively. “For years prior to my administration, attempts to pass E-Verify legislation in Florida failed, but I would not yield until this matter was addressed. Last year, I was able to deliver on working with the Florida Legislature to get E-Verify over the finish line and signed SB 664 into law. Requiring use of an employment verification system not only places upward pressure [on] Floridians’ wages, it also protects the public safety. Assuring a legal workforce through E-Verify is crucial to upholding the rule of law and deters illegal immigration into Florida, which is more important than ever given the border crisis.”
DeSantis, whose popularity has been surging due to his handling of the coronavirus pandemic much more effectively than many Democrat governors in the northeast, with no mandates or restrictions, also noted that President Joe Biden’s handling of immigration has “been abysmal” and hurts all states, including Florida.
“The Biden Administration has been abysmal on immigration and their policies threaten to turn all states, including Florida, into border states,” DeSantis said. “Under this administration, it’s very clear we must enforce our laws and protect our residents.”

Amusing story. Jacksonville, FL is swarming with newly arrived wetbacks due to the booming housing industry. I can only imagine it is the same in other parts of the state.

It could be that E-Verify won’t work any more, as the illegals will have papers to work around this.
Ben Berqquam on America’s Voice said that buses of illegals are being loaded at the border and take off for other states. Before leaving, the illegals are given envelopes — assume with phony docs. They’re huge and hold about 100 pax. Some are headed for Florida. DeSantis should have checkpoints at every highway and back road into the state so they can turn back this invasion.
I believe there was a big dump of them in Chattanooga recently, too.
Regardless of whether the signs are in Spanish or English, most of the illegals can't read anyway
Here’s a better solution, which works for voter ID, too...
Issue every American, at no out of pocket cost to them, a passport.
Have Americans use their passport as ID. Fir a job, to vote.
Update the passports at no out of pocket cost to citizens.
Make passport fraud a federal crime punishable with decades spent in prison upon conviction.
Make and enforce severe penalties for biz that hire illegals.
All that should put a major hurt on the problem.

If Trump doesn’t run in 2024, he’s the only choice.
Problem is the Republicans amended the bill to exempt agricultural workers. By far the largest area of employment for illegals is still going strong in Florida.
Ctrl FL is the same with construction and also agriculture/landscaping. The last house we rented there had 30 people living in it prior to us. We got a little move in discount for helping clean the place up. Nasty. I could tell by the dirt marks that someone had been sleeping in one closet. German cockroach infestation. Landlord said he was constantly dealing with drain clogs because they would pour hot lard down them and of course the hot lard became cool real quick and solidified. There was a hole out back that got used when the toilets wouldn’t flush.
Putting up signs is fine and dandy but if e-verify doesn’t get enforced, it means nothing.
I already admired DeSantis. And the more I read about him, the admiration grows.
