So is “recycling”. Sorting trash is counterproductive: it does more environmental harm than good. The point is to train people follow the dictates of environmentalists.
Mask wearing is a consequence. It they can get you to sort your trash, they can pretty much get you to do anything.

I hear people all the time say, hey the masks kept me from getting the flu or even a cold this year. Does seem to keep minor ailments away.

our overlords, led by epidemiologists like Dr. Anthony Fauci, have been deeply involved in behavioral ‘science’ for more than a year. Such an approach, however, cannot long coexist with our Constitution or any freedom-loving democracy. Oh, no need to worry about that. They're well on their way to getting that pesky Constitution out of the way.
