If you believe the vaccines are so unreliable that you must still live in your lockdown and mask bubble, why did you bother to venture out to get vaccinated? It seems like the pandemic panic cheerleaders have been hoisted on their own petard. They scream for us to get vaccinated and even threaten to implement vaccine passports, yet we are to continue to hide our faces with worthless masks and isolate ourselves. The daily breathless panic reports of some new strain that certainly the current vaccines won’t help would likely cause one to wonder why bother to get vaccinated in the first place.

I got my vaccinations mostly because I believe that some kind of vaccine passport is inevitable and in the vain hope I could stop being compelled to wear those stupid masks.

Really disappointed in the lack of information in this article. We could be, probably are, talking infinitesimal percentages here. If the SA variant ( it’s once again OK to use country of origin if it’s not China) makes up 1% of the infections, does this test group of 400 represent that 1%? So with the vaccine you are somewhat (8x) more likely to be in the 1% infected? So what, your chances are 99.8 not 99.9% safe? And what was the make-up of this 400 test group, what conditions did they have?

This wasn't a super detailed study, they looked at 400 people who got at least one shot from Pfizer, who subsequently contracted the ChinaVirus. That's group A. Then Group B was 400 people who didn't get any shots at all, and contracted the virus.

Comparing those two groups, there were way more people with the SA variant from group A, than there were in group B, which implies that the shots are not blocking the SA strain at all. It's not a matter of conditions or anything else, if anything it's implying that the shots do work somewhat for the regular/other strains, but don't block the SA one at all, hence the higher incidence rate of that particular version of the virus. Whereas the unvaccinated group would be your control group that gives a good idea of which strains are out and about within the population.
