To be fair, that NR issue was published in early 2016 during the PRIMARY season — and a lot of those authors opposed Trump because they saw him as a New York liberal trying to hijack the GOP nomination process.
Some of us here on FR were leery about Trump early on in 2016 for that very reason.
They were right about the hijack part but wrong about the liberal part.
