China has admitted its Covid vaccines do not work well – which could slow the world’s battle against the virus.
In an extremely rare confession, the director of the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Gao Fu, said the vaccines ‘don’t have very high protection rates’ against coronavirus symptoms. They are being used in at least 45 countries.
He gave no specific details, but a University of Chile study found that China’s CoronaVac jab was only 3 per cent effective in the 28 days between the first and second doses, rising to 56.5 per cent two weeks after the second dose. This may explain why Chile is suffering a severe Covid surge despite having one of the highest global vaccination rates.
China has exported hundreds of millions of jabs made by state-owned firms mainly to Asia, Africa and Latin America, but also to Hungary and Turkey. Mr Gao said China was now considering using different jabs.
Mr Gao said: ‘It’s now under formal consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunisation process.’

According to the Associated Press, vaccines made by two state-owned drugs firms, Sinovac and Sinopharm, have been exported to at least 45 countries, mainly in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
But even some countries in Europe such as Hungary and Turkey have used the vaccines

Holy crap. I’d not looked at India for several days. The absolute numbers are not yet awful, relative to the very large population, but, the acceleration in the curves is horrific. Those of us (I include myself) who were speculating a couple months ago about how India had weathered COVID-19 so well... can just shut up now.

One is Covaxin, a killed-virus traditional vaccine, much like Sinovac’s CoronaVac that is the one the original post article talks about. Covishield is the other one, a licensed version of the AstraZenica vaccine.
I think they’re going to find that, like CoronaVac, Covaxin has a much worse efficacy rate than previously thought. I also think we’re going to find that killed-virus vaccines don’t work well against COVID-19.
China didn’t offer their vaccines to Europe and IIRC, India made their own.
They have two. One is the licensed copy of AZ’s vaccine, the other is a killed-virus traditional vaccine made in India. The latter is IIRC more widely issued due to easier logistical concerns. However, I think we’re going to find out that none of the traditional vaccines are going to work out well against COVID-19 in the real world.
China’s covid record:
tests - 111K per 1 million or 160M tests
administered vaccines: 164 million out of 1.5 billion
compare to the US:
tests: 1.4 million per million or 419 million
administered vaccines: 117M at least one dose, 65M two doses distributed: 238 million
China has yet to admit more than 90K cases.
I don’t believe everything I read / hear from the MSM and I certainly don’t trust anything coming out of China. They are masters of deception.
Most of China never shut down for this “pandemic” their factories - car manufacturing, etc. - have been operating at full speed. China is now filling production gaps in many nations short of supplies and products because of lockdowns.

I notice how the ChiComs just “miraculously” somehow avoid the microchip shortages that are requiring American automobile manufacturers, among many others, to shut down temporarily. Funny how that happens.

I note from the article that the current goal is to vaccinate 250 million by the end of July, and may be missed. Looking at the case and fatality curves, I’d say 250 million in 3.5 months is not good enough for vulnerable people. However, India still seems to have relatively low numbers of such, compared to the total population. Their resolved cases fatality % is still just over half of the US’ rate.
