The are good and there are bad cops. Obey all commands. If they are unreasonable request a badge number. You do no know why police stopped you. It may be an armed and dangerous alert. “He’s wearing his US Army uniform! Are those cops stupid?” Was Major Nidal Malik Hasan in uniform when he ran amok? Are you the stupid one?
NBC wants to agitate people as the comments show. For those who condemn the police there is a Chris Rock video on how to deal with a traffic stop. You get out of your car. You show your ID and are released.
The LT intended to provoke a reaction. “He is the type who will scream prejudice at the drop of a hat.” He will go far in today’s military. Promotion is not based on competence.

If he had exited the vehicle when asked and shown his credentials as requested he would have been on his way in 5 minutes.

If he had put his hands down to unbuckle his seatbelt, they would have shouted, "he's going for a gun" and shot him dead.   Get real Yossarian.

Attention Parents... OK, Attention Baby Mama: If you’re not going to teach your kids to respect authority (or anything else) at least teach them this: (I have thoughtfully put it into a rhyme for those predisposed to not listen to, or learn from, anything that doesn’t rhyme):

Comply - Don’t Die

Part of the problem, Mid, is that the average person is not trained to instantly react properly in stress situations. I suppose that’s even true, to an extent, with military folks.

Suppose I’m out watering my front lawn. And a police car comes screeching to a halt in front of my house. A cop jumps out with gun drawn. “Get on the ground,” he yells.

I’ll tell you what I’d probably do. I’d probably just stand there like a big dope. And I’d be saying to myself, “What the hell?” Maybe that would get me tased, or worse.

I get that cops have a very difficult and dangerous job. But cops need to get that they are dealing with, well, big dopes.

Thanks. My big question is why did they immediately draw their guns upon exiting their vehicles? The subject pulled in a well lit gas station, and I noted there were no police reports of this guy evading police or failing to stop. No mention of a pursuit, short or otherwise.

To be honest, I would expect this type of traffic stop for robbery/assault suspect or someone suspected of having an outstanding felony warrant etc.

All good questions that I can’t answer. The officers did seem to behave excessively. I just wonder if there’s more to the story.

We watched the clip, and his temporary license could be seen clearly taped to the back window. I’m on this guy’s side in this situation.

Two days after we moved to NYS, driving along I-86 near Big Flats, we were pulled over by State Police. We had bought a car a few days before moving from CA, and it had a temporary license. The cop threatened to ARREST us and have our car towed away because he didn’t like the perfectly legal temp license which had about 20 days left before expiring.

It’s not as if we live our lives being scofflaws. We were minding our own business. The man had a screw loose, and a Barney Fife complex. We actually were scared. Anyhow, we felt bad for this man in the video.

No dumbass kid. Ride the lighting meaning die in the electric chair:

v. i. 1. to be executed by electrocution in the electric chair. Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, published 1913 by G. & C. Merriam Co.

Got that? Kid, it's been in the dictionary at least since 1913.

The phrase is no older than the first electrocution execution in 1890...

The are good and there are bad cops.

Where are those 'good cops' turning in the 'bad cops' for doing anything that is not in compliance with local/state/federal law or standard operating procedures?

Oh wait, they don't report them.

This is an outrage. Imagine if a judge treated citizens in the courtroom like this. That judge would be history in about two seconds. Police are public servants. They sould never be allowed to forget that.

Many years ago, I was pulled over for speeding by one of Brevard County’s fattest (I mean finest) after dark while driving to a hurricane party. There were three of us in the car, one of which was a black guy. Although I doubt we were pulled over because of the black guy (it was dark), I have no doubt that he demanded that we step out of the car because of the black guy. He had us line up, side-by-side, behind the car and tells be to move one step to the left, which I did. He then pulls his gun and starts screaming at me, “MY LEFT, MY LEFT.” I though he was going to shoot us for driving 10 MPH over the speed limit.

Perhaps he was one of those that Dr. Clarissa Cole flunked out of Broward County for failing his required pre-employment psych eval. She noted that fully half the ones she failed were hired elsewhere. What was her phrase? Up the road, the next county, something like that.

Thank about that for a minute. Half the candidates were too mentally unstable and/or sociopaths, and knowing that, someone still hired them, gave them a badge, a gun and life or death control of people in their city.

Did the cops use the exact words “we’re going to execute you”? Was he a case of mistaken identity? Had he been drinking? Did he refuse to obey a command?

Don't be lazy, go to the link and find out for yourself........I know the answer but I'm not going to do the work for you.

If he had exited the vehicle when asked and shown his credentials as requested he would have been on his way in 5 minutes.

If you would simply have surrendered you firearms when the local LEO's came to confiscate them after letters sent to you requesting the same, you would still be alive today.

With that being said, why did the LEO's pull him over?

The police issued a LAWFUL order and the driver was bound to obey it.

What was the offense?

The incident concludes with Gutierrez saying to Nazario, “If you want to fight and argue … you have that right as a citizen, if that’s what you want, we’ll charge you … If you want to just chill, let this go, and no charges filed, we’ll take the handcuffs off, we’ll get you a bottle of water … and sit here until you feel comfortable driving.”

_________________________________________________________

Very interesting. Guns drawn immediately on the subject, pepper spray to the face...And in the end, if he “chilled”, they’d just forget the whole thing?

Amazing stuff.
