“Empty blather”

I wish it were so, but they are going to spend us to oblivion and penury.

Our comments are not contradictory.

The mantra of the left always boils down to the same imperative: conformity. And there’s absolutely nothing they don’t insist in bringing into their own concept of perfection, whether it’s thought, speech, nutrition, housing, transportation, and every minute and microscopic detail of our lives. Until they’re stopped, they will press their ideology into every crevice, corner and private aspect of our existence. They would rather commit mass murder than suffer any degree of nonconformity. They are insane.

Americans are spending too much of their money on transportation in the wrong ways, or don’t have access to it at all.

Here's a novel idea--leave people alone and let THEM decide how they want to spend their money!

Pete.... personal choices and individual responsibility are the name of the game.

Now, go be a good example and pump your bike ALL the way to work.

Every company thinks they’re Google. Nobody ever tells these companies they’re not Google.

Your management wants everyone in the office to keep an eye on them.

Europe has a vast network of high speed rail it’s great. You can get on a train without being felt up by a government agent and don’t have to show up two plus hours ahead of time. They are clean, fast as in 200+mph and on time. Anyone who has extensively traveled Europe just shakes their heads as to why a country the size of the USA with concentrations of population does not run 3000+ seat trains in the regular between its major population guns it’s much more efficient than air travel with less hassle and trains tend not to fall out of the sky. Derailment is an issue but dedicated right of ways have virtually eliminated that problem with impact derailment. On a passenger mile per fatality basis high speed rail is much safer than flying. China also has a vast network of high speed rail. The reason America does not is political power by the airline cabal who rightfully so fear rail they should it’s superior in any trip under 1000km in door to door time especially with the TSA rubbish that must be endured in the states.

Let’s cut to the chase, shall we?

The nomenklatura do not like when “the lower orders” can move around freely; it goes against the natural order of things in their viewpoint.

I KNOW!! What they don't seem or want to understand is the way the company is spread out we do business over zoom. We have cell phone contact if needed.

There's this nonsense about "culture"....I have a news flash....that day is over of everyone getting together and doing birthdays and such especially with all the woke hiring happening.

They're directly changing the culture by being woke.

Europe is much more densely populated than the U.S. Geographically, there isn’t a single country in Europe that is larger than TEXAS ALONE. That makes Europe far more conducive to intercity rail service than the U.S.

It’s not the lobbying pressure of the airline industry that prevents widespread implementation of intercity rail service here. It’s the economics of travel in North America, the inability of government to do anything right, and a culture that doesn’t lend well to strict schedules for most things. We have even reached the point where things that WERE strictly scheduled in the past — like TV shows and “normal business hours” — have now been replaced by on-demand video streaming and 24-hour online business services.
