The description of the events is hyperbolic and vastly exaggerated to fit the narrative of the left.
With that said, it was not good for Trump supporters. It shut down the process in congress and allowed the media and bureaucracies to push a lie quite effectively. It sucked all the air out of the news cycle for weeks.
Yes, I know the GOPe was not going to dig in their heels about the election, but there were a few wanting to make some noise and push the media narrative. It would have been nice to see more of them “on the record”.
In summary, it did not accomplish anything that was helpful.
There’s also the Marine Barracks that is eight blocks from the Capitol.
Marines could have been at the Capitol in ten minutes.
A pleading traitor
There were some violent Antifa/BLM looking types on the capital grounds that day. It is on video. There were probably a few idiots on “our side” that got a little carried away too.
Yes, the vast majority of people were peaceful and “took the tour”, but let’s not ignore that Trump supporters provided the same cover for dipchits that peaceful protestors did all of last year. The same exact narrative can be said about events that day that was heard around here in response to the BLM riots.
We need to keep it real. This was the first chance the media took to paint MAGA supporters as no different than BLM/Antifa and they took every advantage of it. It was certainly not as violent as many of the BLM/Antifa led events we witnessed, but it was not all wide-eyed people praying in the rotunda either as many are describing it.
To the credit of some, many MAGA types were telling the others to knock it off and behave, but that was also witnessed at some of the BLM marches.
All that mattered in the end was the media narrative and they got EXACTLY what they wanted that day. Exactly.
As far as I know, Pence has always disappointed in tough situations.

Every intent by the shooter in cold blood and then how ironic is it that he was able to disappear and not one bit of investigation by the media or calls by politician

You Got That Right
The Trump admin requested troops before Jan 6. The request was denied. The scripted “insurrection” was a leftist/Antifa pantomime with a few Trump supporters sprinkled in.
What’s sad is that the MAGA types who behaved badly that day really betrayed President Trump. He was counting on our side rallying peacefully as we always do. It’s a well established pattern that conservatives go out and have a good time with their homespun signs and pick up after themselves and are peaceful almost to a fault. But the pattern didn’t quite hold this time and a relatively small number of bad apples, excitable goofballs, and unwary naifs handed the media its narrative on a silver platter and totally undermined Trump. It has to be one of the worst political own-goals ever.
The fact that they are still running this story tell you just how big a victory this was for us. We had them running like chickens. They were humiliated & embarrassed.
They don’t realize this harms Pence’s inage.

Why isn’t the DC mayor held to account. She didn’t follow past president for crowds even the RNC event had more road closures. The DC crowd control on the 6th was to be blamed but all went as planned and Nancy got voted in again as planned.
You know the reason, liberals, especially black liberals, are never held accountable.

Do we even *know* it was an officer that shot Babbit? How do we know it wasn’t a Congressional staffer... or ummm.. even a Congressman that did the act? I believe there was an interview one time that they let slip some Congressmen do have weapons in their office.
Pence didn’t have the authority to tell Chris Miller anything.
