Most of the comments are from people glad this has happened.
The congregation should show up and have service in the parking lot. The building may be closed, but the building isn’t really the church. the congregation is the church and the church doesn’t exist without it.
Communist China took over Canada without firing a shot.
What are the chances of Canada adopting a 1st Amendment?
Until a couple dozen are found hanging from street lamps.
Seriously, 'freedom of religion' is THEORETICALLY 'protected' under our Constipationtution. Under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Section 2 guarantees freedom of religion. The kicker is that Section 1 states, 'The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.' In other words, as wishy-washy as a politician could write it!
In a 'world of reality', rather that the Bizarro World of the CCP-Coronavirus pandemic CONdemic/PLANdemic in which we live, they couldn't get away with shutting down this church. Unfortunately, what judge would overturn the closing? Like in the US, lawyers become judges and the vast majority of lawyers are LIBERAL, and have been for decades. In addition, I believe that the federal government appoints judges, based upon recommendations from the Canadian Bar Association. IF this closure went before the courts, it would likely STAND, in my opinion. Our courts are even more F'ed up than yours.
