State Senate passes emergency clause to immediately and permanently end mask mandates(Arkansas)

The Arkansas Senate voted to permanently block the state's governor from ever imposing another mask mandate.

The bill now moves to the state's House of Representatives.

The measure was approved by the Senate on Wednesday, one day after Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson allowed the statewide mask mandate to expire after it was initially put in place in July 2020.

Hutchinson said it was unlikely he'd reimpose the mandate, but he did not rule it out.

To make sure a government-mandated mask edict can never be imposed again, the Senate voted 20-9 to ban all mandatory face-covering requirements, citing the undue burden they place on the public.

“The requirement of face coverings is no longer necessary to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Arkansas and is a burden on the public peace, health, and safety of the citizens of this state," the bill declared.

It can be STRONGLY suggested that folks wear masks to try to protect themselves. Their bodies, their choices. But, mandating/requiring is an overreach. People that choose to wear them should be strongly cautioned against assaulting those that choose to not wear them.

I despise the man with all of my being, but Fauci is right that the mask and vaccine mandate stuff isn’t going to be governmental, it’ll be done by commercial entities. Government is then placed in a very precarious position.

It’s almost like all of this was orchestrated.

I wish there was such an event over here in the Bay Area.

We apparently had a protest against masks in my little town of Fairfax in Marin county and of course all the local Karen’s merely tried to call them racist! Waaaaaaaacist ( cue the little black kid )

I wish I had known about that (Mask protest in Fairfax).
That’s right down Sir Francis Drake Blvd. near Red Hill Lucky’s grocery store. I’m in San Rafael and I would have stopped by. As you know better than I do, the nicest parts of Fairfax cannot be seen from Sir Francis Drake or Bolinas St., they are much further back in the woody, hilly areas with twisty dirt roads.

Masks still required in some towns. I just got run out of Barnes and Nobel in Fayetteville for no mask. I had already finished my purchases.

Other towns have done away with masks.
