A new report from Equis Labs highlighted reasons why Donald Trump’s appeal to Latino voters changed the political landscape in several states and brought the GOP victories in several House races in Texas and Florida.
What worries Democrats most is that those victories by Republicans in majority Latino districts came in spite of a massive effort by Democrats to get out the vote among Latino voters. The tactic worked — but not quite the way Democrats hoped.
Latino voters with low involvement in politics, many of whom didn’t vote in 2016 at all, shifted toward Trump. Driving the shift was Republican messaging on socialism and immigration that, contrary to Democratic expectations, played well with young Hispanic males, especially in Texas and Florida.
In places like Miami-Dade County in Florida and the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, that swing spiked to over 20 points. What’s more, seven of the 14 House seats that switched from Democratic to Republican control were in majority-minority districts, many of which had large Latino populations.
As we now look ahead to the midterms, it’s likely that many close races will run through states and districts with large Latino populations. Democrats would do well to address their Latino vote problem if they want to keep control of the Senate and House.
In truth, Republicans have a long way to get to parity with the Democrats on the Latino vote. Biden won fully two-thirds of the overall Latino vote and that may have proved decisive in Nevada, Georgia, and Arizona.
But Republicans could definitely take some solace in their House victories in Texas and Florida.

This assumes that our election system, which we know was rigged last November, will result in something different in the next elections.

Latinos from Cuba know what socialism brings, and vote against it. Latinos from Central America are grateful to the Dems for bringing them here and letting them in. They will vote Dem.
That was the lesson of 2020, and it doesn’t bode well for the future; Trump won 1/3 of the Hispanic vote and more black votes than any recent Republican, yet the Dem media gave it to Biden (and silenced anyone who questioned it).
Some Hispanics come here for indoor plumbing and three hot meals a day; others come here to get ahead with hard work - and the latter sees no point in voting for Dems who will give part of their hard-earned income to the former.
Democrats don’t have to worry about any demographic voting one way or another.
As I type, in Georgia we have high ranking Republican officials trying to stop a real audit of the ballots.
Kemp signed the bill and says that he will fight it. Call me what you want, but I think he’s just waiting for it to go to court and be overturned. He’ll shrug his shoulders, tell Georgia he tried and “vote for me, because next time I’ll do it right”.
Meanwhile, the Lt Governor, AG, SOS and a few others submitted an amicus brief trying to stop the audit.
I won’t hold my breath for all the Republican members of the Georgia legislature, that say they want the audit, to submit their amicus brief in support of it.
But don’t you worry, come next year, they will be all over the state asking for one more chance. 2nd Amendment. Low taxes, 2nd Amendment. Keep your guns. 2nd Amendment.
Once they have the illegal alien vote, it won’t matter what citizen hispanics think or do.

Is that why most Venezuelan immigrants voted for President Trump?
There were leftist regimes in Central/South America even before Cuba. President Trump won Latino majority districts in Texas that Hilary Clinton won in 2016.
We can only vote for who ends up being the candidate.
Sadly, we’ve spent the better part of what, 30-40 years, not having much of a choice, until Donald J Trump showed up.
The state GOPs are one of the root causes of all of this. The corruption at that level isn’t any different than the federal level. Maybe a few less zero’s in how much is stolen, but they’re corrupt thieves just as much as the people in DC.
In the South, Midwest, Mountain states, mention guns and the 2nd Amendment are you’re on track to win. Don’t have to worry about letting your state rig an election, raise taxes, take in refugees for all that money and make sure all the developers and farmers have that cheap labor from South of the border. Just mention guns and the 2A, and you’re good to go.

A few years ago, I tore up my En-Are-Ay card after they endorsed EVERY single incumbent “D” in my state.
If a pol doesn’t believe in the Constitution, why would they support the 2A???

Venezuela is in South America, and like Cuba, was devastated by socialists.
I suspect 2nd, maybe 3rd generation immigrants become more conservative, but I would bet money, those that are being brought up here now will reliably vote Dem.
Those people aren’t fleeing, thirsting for opportunity. They are being recruited with promises of free stuff and clearly their trips are financed.
