Russia warns West against sending troops to back Ukraine

Russia warned the West on Friday against sending troops to Ukraine to buttress its ally, after Kiev accused Moscow of building up a military presence on its border.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday accused Russia of massing troops on the border and the United States pledged to stand by Ukraine in the event of Russian "aggression".

Weeks of renewed frontline clashes have raised fears of an escalation of the simmering conflict in eastern Ukraine, where government forces are battling pro-Russian separatists.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would be forced to respond if the US sent troops.

"There is no doubt such a scenario would lead to a further increase in tensions close to Russia's borders. Of course, this would call for additional measures from the Russian side to ensure its security," Peskov told reporters.

Not worth one single soldier’s life from the USA to maintain Biden’s money pipeline.

30 years ago it was a Soviet state.

Not our business, sorry.

The whole of the Balkans is not worth the bones of a single Pomeranian grenadier.

Russia is merely giving cover to the Chinese by distracting the senile loser in the White House while they prepare for taking Taiwan.

Send the Vindman brothers to the front line. Take half the FIB with them.

Don’t come back.

It's just Putin getting sentimental and reminiscing.

Crimea and access to the Black Sea has been a Russian project and possession for 400 years. Obama and his masters thought they could leverage recent history and a color-revolution to easily pry this out of Russia’s influence and turn it over to NATO. It seems to me they stupidly imagined there would be no Russian response, or they weren’t prepared to shoulder the real consequences of their gamble.

It also seems both Trump and Putin decided to leave the issue alone for 4 years. Trump didn’t want the US involved in useless wars or color-revolutions, and besides, his hands were tied by the stupid “Russia Interference” charade. I have no doubt any future politician who even proposes dialogue with Russia will be attacked with the same nonsense.

Now, after a 4 year break, the US deep state has an even more idiotic puppet in charge, so it will continue the game, and perhaps Putin also realizes there’s no hope of cooperation with the US deep state anyway, so its time to finish the annexation.

What makes it interesting is that the Ukraine is not a member of NATO. But the three Baltic states are.

If you were living in Estonia today, would you sleep well at night knowing the Russian Bear is on the prowl and NATO is supposed to come to your aid....with Biden as POTUS...

" Trump didn’t want the US involved in useless wars or color-revolutions"

Nonsense, the transfer of offensive weapons, including the Javelin missiles were approved within the first two months of the Trump administration. It was the Obama administration who refused to militarily help Ukraine.

I wouldn’t be sleeping very well at night. And I wouldn’t be too comfortable during the day either. If Russia should invade the Baltic States, NATO would do little more than huff and puff. And that, of course, would be the end of NATO as a meaningful organization.

Bismarck was right then. Change it to the whole of Kuwait and to the bones of a single US Marine and he would have been right 30 years ago. Make it the whole of Ukraine today and he’ll still be right.

What better time for China to take Taiwan than when Russia takes Ukraine or the Baltic States...

Instead of paying for transgender reassignment surgeries and flight suits for pregnant women, the military might want to think about a few more ships, planes, tanks, etc...

Are you kidding, it's difficult to sleep well here knowing Biden is POTUS, and the GOP is the opposition party.

What a position we are in with Biden, a democrat at the helm. He is as inane as Jimmy Carter! I sish Trump was still there.

The last thing we need is a war with Russia led by a President with dementia. Stay the hell out.

I see no reason why Putin would have an interest in Estonia. Russia, however, has a legitimate claim to Crimea and needs the access to the port there.

It's time to stop pretending Putin is Hitler and annexing Crimea was the equivalent of the Nazis invading Poland. It's not.
