There are a lot of ironies when it comes to increased Democrat calls for more gun control — which always happens when they are in power — and corresponding record increases in gun sales, but this one might just be the granddaddy of them all.
As reported by “Washington Secrets” columnist Paul Bedard, gun sales hit another record in February as Joe Biden and congressional Democrats once again ramped up calls for new gun control measures, politically exploiting, as they always do, .... For the second time in three months, the FBI broke its record for gun sales, concealed carry, and other firearms background checks in March.
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System conducted 4,691,738 checks, an all-time high. It broke the record set in January of 4,317,804..

Joerg cracks me up.
Nah, its going to be a lot more fun blowing off a few rounds and seeing how fast the little gang banger wannabe can run. 😆
We had a similar problem a few years back, when we lived in the Denver metro area. Our local PD said they had multiple reports of an unidentified person running through yards, and on one of his passes through our property, the intruder severely damaged a wood fence.
I think it's fairly common for people moving in darkness to feel 'invisible' - and I decided to end that feeling for our intruder. I had some heavy-duty OD green nylon thread, and I put several runs of that thread across our backyard: each one was anchored to a fence or tree at one end, and the other end was attached to a big metal can with rocks, aluminum cans, and other 'noise makers' inside. I kept the thread stretched high enough, so our dogs could run underneath without getting hungup.
One morning, all of the noise-makers were sprung (we didn't hear it, because we were asleep in the basement). The intruder probably felt like Peter Graves, in that scene near the end of Stalag 17 - suddenly every step he took made noise, and he was no longer 'invisible'!
I'm not sure if that approach was wise or not; if the dumb@ss had taken a fall & got hurt, I guess he might have sued me. But he never came back to our property, and the police eventually arrested him elsewhere...
I’m sure a lot of people bought more $GME to look for tendies on the moon. 🚀
For later.

We have had illegals sneaking through our side yard for years. I keep threatening to string fishing line between the trees to trip them up. If they get hurt tuff tacos. Our property is posted no trespassing.
He really is an engineering genius and he’s like a big jolly German elf whose pass time is making the deadliest weapons in unique new ways and playing with them until he breaks them or makes them unbreakable ... laughing all the way.
That’s called “tanglefoot” in the military. Properly employed it’s very effective.

If ours ever gets here, it will go for a new front door.
Glad for you, but folks stocking up make it hard for the rest. On the whole of Long Island it is impossible to buy a semi auto. Not because of the laws. Because of supply. Even a rifle like the Ruger 10/22 cannot be found.
I only bought one gun, an H&K VP9, directly from a gun shop. All the others were purchased online, sending it to my local FFL.
Does it take time? Sure, but there are half a dozen online gun stores that I routinely shop from. Just takes patience to find the one I want.
